CORE 15-U.S. made AR's

Gary, can you confirm that these (D.I) are 1:7 twist rate, include a p-mag and that the furniture comes in FDE (M4 MOE model)?? The website says 1:9 and offers the options of black or OD green for furniture. Also does it come in a lockable hard case??

Oh and the buffer tube- commercial or mil-spec??

Thanks

Yes the CORE D.I. models have 1:7 twist. The FDE color option is only available in the piston MOE version at the moment All the DI FDE models are sold out. and yes it comes with a lockable Hard Case...

Just had a large shipment come in on Saturday, so we are in the process of registering and transferring pre-orders. Should have most models available for ordering "in stock" now off the website...

Gary, can you give a rough time frame as to when the D.I. MOE rifles in flat dark earth will be coming again?? Any way to get on a wait list for this puppy?

Definitely looks like there is a problem chambering a round on a fresh mag when the gun starts to get hot which is why he has to use the charging handle.

I couldn't really tell from the video, but was this the DI or gas piston model he was using? I've had limited experience with gas piston system, but I've been told the chamber stays a lot cooler than with a DI system (in addition to being a lot cleaner as well.) This means that the bolt and carrier stay cooler as well, making it more reliable. Anyone want to back this up?

Also along the same lines, I've heard that an open bolt system keeps the chamber cooler as well, but I don't think I've seen an open bolt system on an AR...

Loving that optic! I was having a hard time finding a decent pic of it mounted.

Sig is the flash hider on yours welded on or removable?? Im torn between the DDM4 V5 the Core M4 MOE and the Stag 2T-R at the moment!

It is threaded on and removable. I just got back from Calgary Shooting Centre and another 100 rounds of AE 55gr and no issues whatsoever. There is very little in the way of carbon either in the chamber or on the bolt. I know 100 rounds is not a lot, but it is still very clean. Here is a typical target offhand 25m using a 1x Strikfire..

Im assuming so. The barrel is in and of itself 16". Technically the flash hider should not contribute as part of the barrel length IIRC. Not sure about when its welded on though if its counts towards bbl length.

Either way the price point of the Core makes it very tempting. Never shot or held either of the 3 (DD, Stag, Core) but the Core's reviews seem good and it has the advantage of already having all the Mag-pul sh*t I would want to be putting on it anyways!!

The flash hider contributes to the overall barrel length when it is non removable. That is how US companies are able to export under ITAR with a barrel under 16.5.

Good point. Just re-checked and the minimum is 16"afterall. Best to ask the manufacturer directly. Could be a condition of their particular export agreement. Just like some manufacturers won't export barrels with M203 cutouts or bayonet lugs. The CORE has both. I gave up trying to impart logic when it come to firearms regulations a long time ago.
