CQBR / Mk18 Mod1 Clone thread - Show us your clones!

I'd buy one again in a heartbeat, I know a lot of people says its just a marketting gimmick but to be honest, the extra features (altho largely unneccessary) are all things I wanted my Sig to have... so yeah its fantastic.

to get back on topic, I'd say the same about my DDMK18 these two are my favorite by far. my MK18 set up is a bit different now with the light and more XTM, the rail gets too hot for ladder only.

I have the KAC ribbed rail covers on my RIS II. The added diameter is not too large for me with gloves. Found them at a local gun show and guy practically gave them to me. I still use the ladder cover on the top rail. It works very well for me.

The KAC back up iron sights look so good on the MK18 / M4A1 carbines!

Not set up according to orthodoxy, but its a set up I've used and liked.

- DD Mk18 Mod1.
- Magpul BUPS.
- Surefire M-300 Scout Light
- Haley Strategic Thorntail Offset SBR Mount.
- VTac QD Post Foregrip (2 Surefire DL123 batteries).
- Aimpoint T-1 on an ADM Co-Witness Mount.
- Aimpoint 3X Magnifier.
- B5 Industries SOPMod Stock.
- Magpul P-Mag 5/30 x 2 with Mag Link Coupler.

- SIG P220SAO.
- Streamlight TLR2.
- Sig Arms P220 10rd Magazine.

Just have to add Night Fighter Gear when I get the coin together.

Those VTAC foregrips are insteresting and I like the look of the Aimpoint Micros on these carbines.

How do you like the mag couplers with the PMags? I was thinking about giving them a try but I don't think they'd fit in my mag pouches.

Do you find that your B5 SOPMOD stock is tight on your Daniel Defense buffer tube? I installed a Daniel Defense buffer tube and put on a LMT SOPMOD and it's tight as hell!

The VTac foregrips are pretty well thought out and lend themselves handily to being used to rest against various surfaces when bracing for those shots that require stabilization. The VTac foregrips are light and very rigid and the space in the middle allows for you to pack batteries or other small, essential gear.

The Aimpoints are popular with the guys who have to work in the mountains a lot.

The P-Mags and coupler are pretty disco, I like the Magpul set up better than the older couplers and magazines. The P-Mag set up doesn't slide all up and down the magazines without the usual remedies and the set up is very strong and very rigid in space for when you pop the fresh mag in. I only used a two mag set up for the mags in the rifle, I never tried to keep coupled mags in my mag pouches, way too much crap to catch pulling them out. Better to run the two mags on the rifle and then dump the thing into the pouch and grab slick mags after that.

I find the B5 SOPMod stock to be a really good addition to the rifle. It's what I know from my past and genuinely enjoy the weight, cheek weld consistency and tightness on the buffer tube. The storage space in the sides of the butt stock allow for many options for storage as well.

A SOPMOD is on my MK18 short list for sure, the MOE is ok but it is a very basic stock. I think all that's is left on that list is a SOPMOD, a better trigger and maybe a different comp or FH, not convinced the BCM is the right one for the 10.5".

One Shot Tactical has a really good deal on the B5 SOPMods and I haven't noticed any difference between the old LMT version and these.

Oh, I almost forgot, one of the first things I did was swap out the OEM charging handle for a BCM Gunfighter CH. Based upon my training and how I was taught to deal with stoppages, it has really paid off.

I've got the ambi BCM too, love it and I actually use it all the time to lock the bolt open...
I'm holding of on the stock simply because the MOE does work well enough, OST has all the cool toys; they even got KAC 3T... I spent a lot on this little blaster already.

I went simple:

DD MK18 Complete Upper
Magpul Front and Rear MBUS Flip Sights
DD Offset Flashlight Mount
Magpul RVG
JetBeam 3M XML 450 Lumen Flashlight
EOTech EXPS3-4 556/223 BDC Reticle
DD M4V2 Lower
Magpul MOE Stock
Magpul MOE M4/AR15 Pistol Grip
Magpul MS3 Sling w/ QD Swivel
Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard

Not conventional according to the online commandos, but it was a setup that worked for me and didn't cost a lot of money. I paired it naturally of course with SIG Sauer P226R, installed the SIG Short Reset Trigger kit, and Trijicon Bright and Tough Night Sights.
I wish to get a Colt LE6920 Lower for it, if anyone out there is selling stripped ones. I'm looking to pair the SIG with a TLR1.

I had found a place in the us that sells stripped Colt lowers (M4 carbine and M4A1) but I can't remember what it was right now, they are well know for their reliability package on custom all Colt they build anyway... And the lower were in the 400$ if I'm not mistaking.

Funny thing is I found out about specialized armament right after I posted that response. I'm going to ask what the wait time is like, maybe ask prophet river or irunguns to import it for me. Also possible eta for when they'll have it in stock again.

If you can remember let us know. I'm looking for a Colt "M4a1" roll marked lower receiver and an upper reciever.

Found lots of uppers, not a lot of lowers gunbroker I found quite a bit but people they're are trying to charge way too much. I only want it for Colt M4 carbine roll mark. If I can't get one oh well, it's not like it out performs my DD lower or any other lower.

They make a sweet all Colt MK18 mod0 for LE /GOVT only, so I was thinking buying one parted out... than I saw a NIB black DDMK18 on the EE. I knew I wanted the RISII for sure and I convinced the seller to leave the KAC BUIS on for a little more money even if he didnt want to sell them :) no regrets here.
