In the same boat on the B5. The pricing on LMT SOPMODs leave those out for me. A shame the Vltor IMODs aren't kosher, as they're pretty close in style to both the LMT & B5...
 
I worry about my beard more than I worry about a kosher clone... So the Emod is out.
I might still get an A5 buffer and tube eventually tho, wondering if it'd make a difference. Which brings me to ask: What kind of buffer are you guys running? mine (DDMK18) came with an H I think, but I had an H2 on hand so I threw that in right away and never had an issue, might try an H3 to see if it makes a difference.
 
I might give the IMOD a go, since they're readily available from several sponsors.

Currently I just have a standard H Buffer in this Lower. I do have a Spikes T2 I may swap out from my 14.5" middy or order another H2 for it.

I gave a try to the Magpul RSA/ASAP QD sling mount combo but I'm not that happy with it, works fine but doesn't feel right I think.
So now I need to find CQD sling mounts and HK hooks... This is getting ridiculous lol: most proper clone parts are unobtainium up here CQD, SOPMOD stock, Surefire flash hider etc.

I've decide to edit my post rather than bump up this thread again as I'm doing that a little too often perhaps.
This MK18 black gun thing was getting a little too serious these days so I added two length of hot pink ladder up top and filled the stubby with skittles while waiting for the elusive SOPMOD stock (more skittles). My daughter's ###bear approves:

So very true....

I gave up on the B5 or LMT SOPMOD stocks. The B5s' are a ways out from OSTS and I wasn't willing to drop close to $300 on the LMT SOPMOD new, but I did manage to find a FDE Vltor IMOD off the EE for a good price and is inbound. In terms of looks the Vltor is real close to either of the "kosher" parts and I've been happy with the one I already have on my BCM EAG Clone I built.

The Surefire FH is another item I couldn't justify $200+ on. Instead I went with a GA M4S II and happy with it.

Still looking/needing a Surefire Weapon Light, EoTech 553 or Xps 3.0 in Tan and a civi version of the DBAL( that isn't gonna cost a fortune) and then I'd be happy...

got lucky and found a used LMT SOPMOD gen I on the EE for less than a new B5 :) yay skittles!

also got a Aimpoint x3, moved the M3x and took off the XTM and handstop, back to ladder... almost done

Lol... its coming. Just too many other things to pay for. Have most of the items, PRI upper all completed, really just need scope and those fellows are close to $2k each. Also have my C7A2 (SA-20) coming soon so that is yet another money pit.
 
This thread has been a HUGE inspiration for my "almost complete" MK18. Just a factory Daniel Defense variant, but I've added my own personal touches. I hope to have the remaining bit of work completed soon. I will definitely post back with pics once I'm done.

A lot of really nice MK18s in this thread...nice rifles, guys.
 
Vltor iMod is another option. One page back I posted a mock-up of one. I've since replaced that with a Vltor FDE iMod.

This is my DD MK18 and how I'm running it right now. I know it's not a clone but I'm looking for a minimalist lite weight rig to run. I'm loving this setup only thing I'm going to change out is the stock.
Here's what I've added to this rig:
Aimpoint micro h1 in DD MOUNT
Phase 5 tactical battery assist lever
HSP Thorntail offset mount
Inforce WML
BCM gunfighter large charging handle
Magpul moe plus grip
