I literally felt waves of nausea looking at the photos in this post.
Hats off to you for being so calm and collected: if this were my father's gun I'd have had an aneurysm.

Nothing really constructive to add here, just feel bad for you man -- hope some good karma is coming your way to balance this s**t out.
Guess I'll be parkerizing my own 870s from now on..

Can’t say much about the job but have to give it to the guy on owning his #### up; in my experience with gunsmith mistakes it’s been deny, obfuscate, outright lie in that order

Same from my experience. I had one scratch the coating on a brand new rifle and try to tell me it was like that when I brought it in.
