you eat cats do ya?
Personally, I have eaten Lynx, and it was not bad, but lets face it. The majority, if not all of these great white cougar hunters do not eat them. They have dogs run them down, tree them, they blow them away, take pictures to show off, and take the hide to show off some more. Those who cannot see how this could possibly be distasteful to some people, including other hunters are very simple minded.
Never tried the small cats, but they look tasty!
Who ever fed you that line of BS?
I would drive a long way just to get some cougar steaks.

I don't like how the cat died, but I would feel bad if it were any animal.
What you find distasteful is the death of a beautiful animal am I right?
An animal that YOU deem more valuable than a deer?
Your programing by the media is now complete and that makes you a simple minded tree hugger.
Please hand in your hunting rifles to the nearest detachment of the RCMP and join these guys.

which line of BS are you referring to please?
my point was clear and my opinion is that sport hunting is distasteful. How does that make me a simple minded tree hugger?

BTW, would it shock you to know that I own trap line?
This is classic, juussst classic![]()
what do you mean?
what do you mean?

shooting an animal for no other reason then to just kill it, for whatever reason whether it be a picture, a skull, or a hide is easily seen in a distasteful manner....

So it is OK for you to trap and kill animals for fur but it is not OK for a hunter to kill a predator for its fur?
Who's side on you on exactly? I can see now that you are just not happy with anyone who hunts differently than you or doesn't follow your "ethics".

Couldn't have said it better.
But martens arent pretty and cuddly like a big kitty cat. I guess trapping them and letting them expire on their own is much more humane than a couple (be it poorly placed) shots from a .44mag![]()
on the contrary. I earlier stated something to the likes or "to each their own" but my point was that the video, especially the video of the poor marksmanship etc was a problem, and disgusting. I can assure you a trap is more humane than dogs running down a cougar, treeing it, shooting the hell out of it, and then gloating.
do you know what conservation means? trapping is largely regarded as conservation. ever been out in to the alberta bush? beavers will flood you out on no time. My line takes out a couple hundred beaver a year. Marten population is incredibly healthy and thats with trapping.
Now all that being said, I am not here to defend trapping, nor am I a proponent for a ban on cougar hunting. All I am saying, and if you look back at my posts, is that it is distasteful, as is trapping. And people do not like to see it, or hear about it. So do not advertise it unless you want a negative backlash. I have all you guys jumping on me and calling me a tree hugger etc. but you dont think. Go shoot your treed cat. Go brag about it and how manly you are. But expect people to be turned off.
You are all too busy jumping on me and attacking me, and you guys are not thinking about the big picture here. What do you think Mr.Asshat in Ottawa thinks when he sees a video like that?
Maybe people wouldn't be so whiney and sniffly about videos like this if more of them were posted. Maybe if hunters posted more pics and videos, the general public would become accustomed to seeing such acts, and would stop #####ing and whining about s**t that happens every day. Society hasnt alienated us, we have alienated ourselves.
trapping is instant. research it before you bash it.
and you guys are not thinking about the big picture here.
