Needs an ACOG!Took off the carry handle to add the 2x optic and (still retro) rear sight. Doesn't look as good, but a bit more practical. Looking forward to getting it out to function test it and sight it in.

Mine has some scuff marks from the magwell mod, but I'm leaving it as I'm likely going to get it cerekoted in the future.Anyone have some tips for aluminum black on the magwell after the mod? Because it did not turn out very well lol.... looks almost like corrosion forming instead of the expected result. Might just sand it off and hit it with a spray of tremclad instead.
That looks really good! Weird how some have the purple tint and some don't. Mine is plain back. The metal mags look better than the polymer mags, but that's just my opinion.Took off the carry handle to add the 2x optic and (still retro) rear sight. Needs an ACOG!
https://www.rdsc.ca/manufacturers/stern-defense.htmlSeen a crypto 9mm build on reddit form. Stern defense. Anyone look into this?
Mine is impressively tight. Zero wobble.Yeah it seems like mine has a natural little bit of play. The accuwedge took out all the play for the most part. I didn’t have much to begin with. Just confusing to me how mine came from factory with the typical AR wobble and most others didn’t. Either way, time to shoot it. I noticed last night before putting the accuwedge in when I insert a mag, it takes all the slop out too.
It’s never been a tight fit to behind with. Out of the box my reciver set kit was a lose fit. Probably only a few thousandths of an inch so I can hear the slight rattleMine is impressively tight. Zero wobble.
Not good if things are getting worse.
If shopping for an SR optic ACOG vs ELCAN OS4s is an easy comparison.
Better glass..... half the price....
I also just bought a fresh reciver set from RDSC and it too had the same amount of play that I have in my other newly built rifleAnd RDSC has stripped uppers.
Mine had the same issue. I used two small pieces of rubber tape on the face where the two recievers contact near the buffer tube and it eliminated the wobble entirely. The tape has stayed on for 300 rounds so far without shifting. It’s never been a tight fit to behind with. Out of the box my reciver set kit was a lose fit. Yeah it’s not much wobble but it’s just enough for me to notice it and want to fix it. What thickness of rubber tape did you use? I’ve put earplugs in under the rear lug and some electrical tape near the front area where to two pins areMine had the same issue. I am wondering if after I cerakote the upper and lower it might fit slightly better.
Its a bit annoying for such an expensive rifle but it is what it is. Its the best weve got for now.
Honestly im not even sure how thick it is. This is the exact roll I purchased though! Just have to cut the pieces to the desired size! I notice every little wobble and weird noise my rifle makes lol so I get it. The longer I have this thing the more minor issues I find. I had to put some tape on the buffer tube as well to keep the stock from wobbling. Even after buying a Magpul CTR stock its still a bit loose. If I had to do it all over again I probably would have just bought the lower/upper and built my own rifle.Yeah it’s not much wobble but it’s just enough for me to notice it and want to fix it. Yeah I bought the receiver set and built my own. Besides the minor wobble, my rifle is 100% solid. Stock is solid and it runs great not one hiccup. Just the OCD in me with the wobbleHonestly im not even sure how thick it is. This is the exact roll I purchased though! Just have to cut the pieces to the desired size!
