Crusader Arms Crypto

Took mine to the range today put 120 rounds thru. Magazines won't seat on closed bolt has a few failure to feed on top round. Once the first one is in seems to run fine no light strikes or ejection problems. The magazines a very flexible especially the feed lips. The range I went to said they had someone in with a modified crypto taking stanag mags and wouldn't allow it.
Cool to see ranges are still power tripping. Name and shame, because that's absolutely ridiculous to prevent a member from using the range while following the law.

betrayed by your range... brutal

I would not be renewing at that range, i find rural ranges are best, and have a better sense of community and respect. Some of these ranges they act like they are your daddy
I've only ever been to a public range once, by invitation. I brought a 14" 590A1 to shoot skeet for fun. After our rounds the RO told me not bring that shotgun again as he thought it was a prohib because of length?? I never went back.

Fudds are killing their businesses, wondering why memberships are down and the population is aging out.

I think I know which range, has T and B in the name but I am just guessing and wont call it out incase I'm wrong.

I think the 2x5rnd AR mags were a dumb idea long before the crypto 2x5rnds were ever an idea.
Yup! They should have just done 5/5 uncoupled mags to begin with. Hopefully they release them soon

was it PoCo? :D

Just to clarify the range doesn't care if you Dremel out the mag well. They just wanted to make sure you were using the proprietary magazines as they have a lot of law enforcement officers who use the range and didn't want any confusion on the legality. I believe the wording was if you want to use pmags in it take it out in the woods. It wasn't t&b but nearby.

Sounds like you need to boycott that Range.

My friend just recieved his and we went to try it out yesterday. Full Crusader prebuild.

It couldnt fire more than 2 rounds without failing to feed, stovepipes, and failing to go into battery.

A forward assist would've been nice, as the thing did not go into battery all the way most of the time, which was resulting in a click and no bang. Frustrating first impressions.

I was not impressed personally and the bolt felt gritty to actuate IMO.

Serious question: Would an Aero Precision BCG help remedy this issue? Are the Crusader bolts just cooked?

Anyways guy was depressed the whole day trying to run it. Probably went though a good 200rnds trying to diagnose and break it in. Mind you, any gun that needs to be "broken in", using an AR15 bolt at that, is kind of a joke.

CA's track record hasn't been very promising with the Templar and Crux. I was skeptical of the Crypto to begin with.

I wasn't a fan of the mags. But thats not what this platform is for, anyways. If you catch my drift.

Definitely send that back to crusader. I mean I’m pretty sure that the bolts and bolt carriers that they use are from a third party supplier. It’s entirely possible that there is some issue with it that they can resolve. They don’t check every part that they receive from a third party. I’d give the warranty a chance before putting in a new BCG. It can be fixed I’m sure it’s a standard AR15 definitely can be fixed by Crusader.

I must have got a good one. Mine not only works good it doesn't look too bad not $2000 good but good and I have none of the other problems like the dust cover ect. The upper and lower have a different color but I like the look. I put a LaRue Rat stock and 510c feels good

Looks solid

And here we go. I actually wanted to like this rifle.

It's amazing how given the track history with Crusader/Spectre that for some reason buyers still didn't expect that they can #### up an AR. And to be fair, it is VERY hard to #### up an AR. Yet....
I really want to like this rifle

Ended up grabbing a raven instead due to the unproven track record.

We’ll see how many rounds the pre builds go

If my range did this, I’d no longer be going there.

My buddies pre ordered first batch crypto. Runs stanag mags, hit crown land and ran through a case of 1k pmc bronze last week. Not a single failure. Using all stanag and 458 socom and 50 beowulf mags. This thing runs so good, just like my atrs. Building one with a stripped receiver set would literally give you an ar15 if you did the magwell mod and used good guts. I highly suggest people who haven't yet, to grab one. Sure the ano is kinda #### and crusader sucks absolute shiii, but grab a receiver set and build yourself that ar15 you are all missing.
