Crusader Arms Crypto

Am I crazy or missing something? I bought a receiver set and when installing the dust cover it won't close. I look at the upper and notice there simply is no cut on the upper for the dust cover detente to clip into. Did Crusader just straight up forget to make that cut for my receiver or am I missing something?

I think some others had issues with their dust covers, posted a few pages ago. Are you using a milspec one?

It's one I took off from my old M&P15. Pretty sure it's milspec. The upper just doesn't have a slot for the dust cover detente to clip into. I guess maybe with a stronger spring in there it will hold just from friction but for me it won't close no matter what

No slot in mine. Seems to work fine.

When it closes does it sit straight? My rear dust cover hole was drilled too high and resulted in my cover being tilted up at the back.

I noticed that too, my dust cover (Aero Precision) would latch shut but there wasn’t enough tension - resulting in the cover flying open if you so much as looked at it.

Bought an adjustable cover from Strike Industries and fixed my issue.

I also had a rear takedown pin from AP and it would not work in this rifle. Switched to a Strike Industries pin and problem solved again.

Same with my dust cover. It’ll close with some effort. Then it can pop open fairly easily
 
Any update on when the Crypto receivers are shipping out? I ordered one on the 16th of August, and haven't heard anything yet. Sent them an email two weeks ago, and still nothing.

I guess I will order the adjustable dust cover as well. Might get the rear takedown pins as well just in case, are they the extended ones?

14-21 days, I ordered in early Sept and was just told this late last week. They are waiting on the lower receiver dowels, they are stuck at the border. Shipping will be sooner if they get released sooner.

I almost want to ask for the receiver set and have them ship the pins later for me to install just so I can get it in my hands lol
