Crusader Arms Crypto

Mine has a very stiff bolt release. I first thought about the break in, but that is not the case.

If you take the mag out, releases fine?

I found the issue: Milling issue of the receiver. Bolt stop/catch wiggles quite a bit back and forth, which then drags on the magazine when the bolt puts pressure on the catch/release.

My fix: a very thin shim in front of the bolt release where the roll pin goes through.

Correct, with no mag it releases super easy. I'll take a look at this on next days off and see if a small shim like yours seems to help. Thanks for the insight

Spectre release a new receiver called 369 on their instagram.
Any speculation on what would make this lower more inciting than the factory one? I assume the mag well still needs to stay slotted from the factory.

Side note: would be more intrigued if we could get the upper receiver on it's own to mess with some different calibre builds.

They did some changes on the lower, it has front pin now and there is a cut underneath the where the pin is located. They improve the look on the lower a bit.

If you search Spectre Ltd on IG you don't have login and see it, but you can't maximize the photo though.

I can't really tell the difference between this and the current crypto. What am I missing here?

They added a front takedown pin, and the there is cut underneath the front pin. The original one did not have front takedown pins and there was no cut underneath but it was slanted in angle to the end of the magwell.

I inspected a couple receiver sets from this last batch. The lower numbered serial (*****8***) had no issues other than no inner dust cover notch. Looks black in person, in a picture is somewhat purple. Decent machining, only very picky would complain. Newest serial (*****9***) had the inner notch for the dust cover, but has some flashing left in the charging handle notch. Other than that looks good as the first.
