Crusader Arms Templar quality control issues and response

Just got my templar in the mail after a long wait with awful communication the entire time. Check out the link to see what I was sent.

-cotter pin was broken and flared to stay in place
-huge shavings on end of firing pin
-lower looks like it was finished with a steel wire brush (not a big deal for me)
-firing pin spring was hand cut and finished quite poorly
-BHO looks like it was finished with a hand file
-all over the rifle there are dings in the finish from assembly

I haven't finished tearing it down yet but I am not pleased one god damned bit. The thing arrived broken and in this bad of a state.

Did you order from crusader? I've been waiting 3 weeks for something that was "in stock" but after reading these I might just ask for a refund

Communication definitely seems slow. Sent mine in for warranty work. They received it on on October 7th according to canada post tracking. Sent an e-mail on Tuesday Oct.11th the next week to see how everything was going, No response. Sent another one this morning of October 14th and no response yet. I will send a third e-mail next week but this is getting kind of redundant. I guess I will have to DM Steve (Company Owner) on instagram to see what is going on, because that honestly seems like the best way to contact them. And for a $2100 dollar product I expect some form of communication. It's definitely worrying when you send in something worth more then $2000 and no one answers your messages.

Two questions...

1/ Where did you source the extended/enhanced mag release on the G36?
2/ What is the rifle between the G36 and the Bren2? Can't ID it for the life of me... [EDIT - never mind, I just realized it's an R18]

HK Parts, of course! I put in several large orders with them a number of years ago when I was building up an SL8 into a "Stock Block" G36 conversion. Sorry, but I long ago sold off all of my G36 spares.

Thanks, they have them in stock now, but it's a pain getting anything imported to Canada these days, as I'm sure you've also experienced. IRG, I guess...

Has anyone here got a link to a templar manual?

I rec'd my rifle from Canada Post last week, which ordered direct from the manufacturer. Have not had a chance to get to the range as work is crazy busy. I can't see any obvious issues with the finish of the rifle. Looking back at my email thread with the Crusader Arms team, there is 2-3 days delay on every email response.

No manual yet. Just waiting on an e-mail back. Will probably just receive a tracking number in a few weeks. Not sure what the company policy is for answering service e-mails.

I tried to get a refund... unable to, they say they are made to order. that id probably get more if I sell on the used market because they are in demand... Phoenix indoor range in Edmonton has a ACR stock mil spec trigger for $1999.95.

I would love to hear any owners chime in on their experiences. So far it looks like warranty work for a decent percentage

So Spectre got back to me. They received the rifle and I imagine they're going to start working on it right away. Glad they have it now. I'm over the pouting and am just content with waiting now. Probably take a month or so to get everything done. It's really good to see that no one has been denied warranty work claims though. Surprised to hear about the refund issues considering the gentleman had purchased it directly from crusader. Probably won't post much more until I get an update. Feel free to use this thread though, and you guys have a great day.
