Do we have any idea when that is going to happen?
Ya I read their email of what it would take to get back into the APRA and laughed. It's basically them trying to look like they are working with the membership of the CSRA, but the requirements are pretty much impossible to obtain.
What are they asking for? Can we just give it to them?
The major sticking point seems to be in the form of the APRA (or at least the members of the 'Audit Committee') believing the CSRA is not being pro-active and accepting responsibility for proper good governance of the club, and moneys owing to the APRA.
It is all nonsense of course, we have admitted the books are not in the best of shape and we have done the best with what we have. We have stated on several occasions we are willing to 'take our medicine' on this and are willing to work with them and will make good on any payments they feel they have documentation for.
It would appear to me, based on their actions to date, that ultimately the APRA is simply unwilling to allow the Military Discipline back into the ranks of the
APRA, regardless of actions taken.

Was the DCRA, and all the provincial rifles associations, not founded upon service conditions shooting? The whole situation is ridiculous, shooters vs. shooters when we have enough problems from outside our sport.
That's the ironic thing, referring to my post above. Some of the best experiences out there have been shooting alongside the old guys in their 70's and 80's. They actually served and shot when the DCRA was in it's infancy to ensure Canada had a pool of able bodied men who could shoot should the need arise in a time of war. They don't care what you shoot so long as you are respectful. Listening to them tell stories and watching what they can still do at their age was truly an enjoyable experience.
Based on the discussion that I had with the APRA President, though not on the "review committee", this is not the case. APRA President was clear to me that he did not see this as an attempt to remove on club, only a measure to bring the CSRA up to standard, which was clearly needed at least in some regard.
This is an important topic for CSRA. I am moving my part of the discussion to the CSRA part of the APRA forum. If you wish to continue, I'll see you there ... http://www.albertarifle.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4

Good luck. I won't be subjecting my thoughts and writings to APRA moderation. They have already twisted and skewed a few things I have apparently said in all of this.

So, has any of this been sorted out? I was hopping to shoot some CQB matches this summer if possible.
