good point but i have heard from a former instructor that the combloc used to shoot with thier bayonets mounted to act as a compensator.........true I don't know ..........as i only have heard this from one (supposedly in the know ) source ........it seems it could be valid I guess
and don't forget the SVD was also used as by designated marksmen as well i believe who could see H2H CQB

thanks but as for the scope mount bracket , its not neccessary for someone to premake the bracket bcos it already comes in 1" X 1/4" metal long bar , my son got mine from the scrap heep from his school .... member ryushi bot his plate from cdn tire , its very simple to make .... remember this entire project was done on a low do-it-yourself budget , by a cheap drill press and dremel in my den ... did all my painting in the bathroom ... thats it .

since you are using a bracket , it wont matter which mount you use but ... i prefer the looks of the sks/svd mount and also the way the lock works , it adjustable . i could buy additional rail off ebay cheap .
the AK mount are off set forward , doesnt look right for a dragunov and also the lock is different, i havent actual owned one before so i really cant say which locks works better .

I am intrigued in putting a PSOP scope on my VZ58....I just need some help getting what I want to do a proper install.
I found the scope itself, here: http://eastwave.ca/products/scopes/posp8x42d.html
however, I do not know exactly what other parts I would need to purchase to mount it properly? I think I would prefer an AK mount if it offsets the scope forwards, where would I be able to get that?
Also, does anyone have a few minutes to make a list of exactly what I need to complete this mount, and maybe links or names of places to get the harder to find stuff, such as the mounts. I would appreciate that very much!
edit: also, on the page for the scope that I put up, it does not have the rubber eye shield. Is that what that 5$ extra is? I would prefer the rubber eye shield as found on curtton's rifle.
Also, what is this item that is on the scope page under extras: Laser pointer CORSAK–1 with mount on this scope - $65

all you need is a scope and rail from eastwave.ca , you should order the rail at the same time when ordering the scope, i paid $10 for the rail , the scope package came with manual, bag , rubber cap, rubber eye shade and 2 mini battery .
total was $160 shipped for my 6x24.
the scope you are interested in is the forward mounted 8x42 item #0402.... see page 1 of this thread for other stuffs you need to have it mounted to your rifle.
