DIY dragunov clones (VZ58L/CZ858)

i tried to read your other thread on the tigr but got lost among the hot chicks , :D:D:D

did you get a chance to shoot the tigr? if so how was it?

OK, it's a Tigr not a Dragonuv.

You can get a VZ drum though. Making an RPK stock would be a snap.
Yes, I think a drum would be along the lines of the RPK alure.
Extending the bottom of a 30 rnds mag would also make it,
if someone has the passion and patience to do it.
Of course, all the mags pinned to 5.
Everything flat black against the blonde wood.

I was checking out your dragunov clone (very nice job by the way) I'm just wondering if you could explain how you mounted the stock to the rifle?

Thanks...
Dale.

glad you asked dale .... im working on two stock as i type, one is a revised romak and the other is a SVD so give me a couple of days for the paint to dry and i will post details and pics.

Fantastic job, the SVD is on my short list of cool weapons and gear I would love to own. In a perfect world I could have a SVD , Stechkin pistol ,Soviet ballistic knife and a Soviet military spade as my soviet outdoors kit. In this less than perfect world I have the CS version of the shovel.

I would love to know how she shoots? Obviously 7.62/39 is no tackdriver but with the longer barrel and scope is it much more accurate than a SKS or the original CZ?

dragunov SVD and PSL

looks great . Did you use a romak stock?

yes, i use the romak stock and also one to make the SVD stock ... i had that in mind before but werent sure how it would look with the cheek rest chopped off till i saw what kasat did to his and it looked pretty good so i went ahead and did mine .

i used an old top hand guard for the cheek rest replacement , stuff foam on top of it and cover it with leather .

i also took the opportunity to make another (revised) romak stock bcos i was not happy leaving the pistol grip positioning plate on the first time which left a 1/8" gap between the PG and the receiver so off it came. i think it looks much better now , i also moved the stock back about 1/4" but still werent able to save any wood to connect the PG to the upper stock .

I can see that it's hard to find metal that matches the strange 858 color.

I think it's funny that the "real" dragonov has a bayonet. I've never seen that before. A bayo on a sniper rifle.

next step is to paint the rifle black but i need to do more research first , im looking for durabilty and ease of application , im looking to do it myself and not have it blasted and park.
