Dominion Powders Now Available

Nice, I use RL 19 data in quick load to build loads using d4350sc.

Is there only one lot of d4350sc around? Mine shows lot 25 purchased June 2020.

I got another 5lbs of 4350 today, still lot #25 but in a different type of jug. Doesn't matter to me as long as it shoots good. Got some 4064 to try too, but I didn't get any from the previous batch to compare. I'll see how it compares to the 1/2 lb of IMR 4064 I had left over from close to 10 years, just finished that off with a 308 recently.

The new style 5lb jugs aren't very full, so I was able to consolidate them a bit to save on space. Had enough left over to fill an old IMR 1 lb can (clearly marked as D4064) so I don't have to dig out the big jug so often. It seems to fill the case a bit more, even close to start loads are slightly compressed with just a tiny bit of crunch at the end of the stroke when seating 178's. Hopefully I'll get to see how it shoots tomorrow.

That's good news. Thanks for the reply.

Let's us know how it shoots !

I don't think I did my best today, but I really hadn't nailed down a good load with IMR either. This is 5 rounds in each group, top one was with a cold, clean bore, and the bottom one was shot immediately after. Average velocity was 2468, 41.3 gun D4064. ES was 28

Previous target, same load but with IMR 4064, 2580 fps average, but hard to tell much with only 3 shots, but I was only trying to see if the bullets would work ok before ordering a pile of them. ES was 13

Bullets for both were Hornady 178 ELD M. I think I need to ditch the cheap Harris knockoff bipod and go back to a sandbag for a front rest on the bench though, the rubber feet don't consistently get traction and it's hard to preload the legs consistently. Looking at my numbers I think I need to load a bit hotter. IMR 4064 did good with 42.8gn and was safe as high as 43.7gn, and this looks like it might want a touch more than the 42.8 I tried. At 42.8gn I got 2567 fps with D4064, 2676 fps with IMR 4064. I haven't tried them back to back though.

Thanks for posting. Nice shooting with the imr. It seems to be faster(about100fps) in the same weight charge. Maybe be able to match imr velocity if you up the charge weight of d4064 if it's accurate still.

I put some loads together for plinking for my 8x57 with iron sights. 48grs d4064 with 150gr Hornady shooting to the same point of aim as my previous imr loads. Nothing on paper but just metal plate, was hitting pretty consistently. Happy with the powder for plinking and more range time.

Yup, I'm hoping the accuracy is there with a bit more velocity. I'm only really just starting out with this rifle though, and haven't played with anything in 308 before,so I'm basically starting from scratch anyway. I was trying to get dialled in with some old leftover IMR, but then the D4064 was back in stock so I grabbed a bunch. I'm a big fan of buying bulk and saving a few bucks.

It’s accurate in two rifles I have it loaded for, shot it a model 700 the other day.
