I looked at 308 16" AR series rifles before deciding on an AR10A4, this was the best deal I could find on a Recon which was my comparable.

I'm surprised the end price was close to the 2k that ntm posted. Duty must be a big factor.
ntm,
Glad to see you have yours! Didn't waste any time. Handguard and flash hider already changed up. Which scopeis that? I'm still waiting for my "source" to come back with the wholesale price for that scope we talked about. That and I'm thinking the MI in 12" keymod will go on mine. Work in progress. I have some Lapua 167 ammo to try. That round was the ticket for my gen1 LR308.
Looking good. Looking forward to getting mine to the range.
I'm bumping this thread because I don't want to start one to bring up a thought that will most likely just get shouted down and/or ridiculed. Here goes:
It seems to me that the receivers (upper and lower) for the DPMS GII series of .308 modern sporting rifles have different dimensions than standard AR-10 receivers, and are therefore incompatible with standard AR-10 receivers. Would this make the GII series of rifle to not be an AR-10 variant, and therefore not restricted by name?
The reason I bring this up is that this seems to be the situation with ATRS's Modern Hunter, which cosmetically resembles an AR-10, but is deemed to not be an AR-10 variant as its receivers are incompatible with AR-10 receivers.
If the GII is deemed to not be an AR-10 variant, then it would stand to reason that the Hunter and Bull models (with 20" and 24" barrels, respectively), would be non-restricted.
Didn't know the G2 had a commercial buffer tube.
WTF were they thinking on that one? Thats a strike, even though its a great step forward in general.

Yah I was considering one of these then I read up on the commercial spec and I gave up.
I may get a Recon because i like AR-10 but it would be very surprising that it would be more accurate than my AR-10T or my FNAR, would it shoot .5 to MOA, ( even less than .3 MOA occasionally) if it does, i am all ready there with my rifles... But still, id'e get one... JP.
