I appreciate your honesty and willingness to admit to faults, but I would not for one second be apologizing to the people who continue to live in the past and can't seem to take their blinders off long enough to see the present or the future. They should seriously consider the statement on the firearm stance by DU on their own website and contemplate what kind of "fantasy island" scenario are they trying to play out here.

https://www.ducks.org/about-ducks-unlimited/du-statement-on-firearms

DU strongly supports the right to bear arms and believes that with that right comes a responsibility to use firearms lawfully and safely. The ownership and use of firearms is intertwined with wildlife management and conservation in North America, and we strongly support hunting. Without hunters and recreational shooters and their financial contributions through hunting licenses and excise taxes on sporting arms, national conservation funding would be decimated.

And with that statement people still delusional enough to say that they are only a "wetland" conservation group have been in the duck blind too long and their brains are waterlogged.

You can't be putting statements like that on your website and not support all firearms, pardon if I've ruffled some feathers although I am not sorry.

You are looking at the American website...

Both are the same but not. International charities often work as individual units independent in many ways from the original. Due to where they are located, and the laws/situation they find themselves in. DU in the USA seems to be pro Firearms, and pro hunting and activly show they are. DU Canada has scrubbed that side of themselves from existence and their board member sits on the FAC that's filled to the brim with anti gun people.

Sorry but Mr Binch seems to be playing with politically correct responses. DUC should not be sitting on the fence on this matter. This gun ban is a serious issue that goes further than just taking away our hand guns and semi autos. Government wants eventually to take all of our firearms no matter what classification. I understand that DUC has a strong role in the preservation of our wet lands and I fully support there initiative however I think DUC is forgetting the most critical aspect of DUC fundraising is given by mostly gun owners in this country. There would be no DUC if not for Law abiding gun owners in this country. Where would DUC fundraising be if gun owners in this country protested to support DUC. I think Mr Binch should encourage DUC members to support Canadian gun owners in there fight against the liberal government propose gun bans and stop playing with the politically correct route. If DUC maintains this position of neutrality on this important issue than I would encourage gun owners not to further support any fundraising For DUC.

I wander if the Federal Government is paying Mr Binch’s salary?

Ducks does not work for hunters anymore they work for the federal government .
Depending on how you want to look at it, the federal government/libs are directly or indirectly paying his wage for sure and all the other executive of ducks. It has been mentioned on many of these du threads, they receive $40+ million per year in federal funding I believe starting in 2017 possibly going back even further. Ducks doesn’t really need our money anymore but of course they will take every cent they can get but I believe now they are being paid well for their silence in this matter we are facing

Try duck hunting in Southern Alberta. Then say DU has never done anything for us. While you’re at it ask JR why he has yet to learn from his past mistakes and still acts without any thought as to the collateral damage he will cause to our shooting and hunting community. Then asks for forgiveness and blames “antis” for his grief.

Last time i checked, owning land meant you could do what you wanted with your own land. Guy might actually ......gasp.....use a internal combustion engine tractor to clear that land. It will contribute to absolutely nothing that the lieberal do nothing carbon tax is not supposed to accomplish.

Well I guess your right....people are free to act like selfish idiots. Lets destroy a small ecosystem in spite of a stupid internet petition that means NOTHING. Childish...but go ahead hope it makes you feel good because after all its "your land"

It will be more difficult without any guns - as I am sure you are aware is ultimate goal.

They are a private organization and can do as they wish. I am happy I know where they stand and unfortunately it is not on the side of personal freedom to keep our personal property - again their choice and I support that choice. Just as its mine to only support those that support what I believe in.

It will be difficult for some to use guns if there is no public land as well.

Exactly. So it seems we should support each other and not be neutral. I will await their support.

I never said I would not support their cause, but I do not need to support them if they do not reciprocate.

Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee

The Government of Canada renewed the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee (CFAC) in 2017 to ensure that Canadians’ views are considered when delivering the firearms agenda.

Membership;

The Committee consists of 10 members. Membership includes law enforcement officers, public health advocates, representatives from women’s groups, civilian firearms users, gun control advocates and members of the legal community. Members are appointed by the Minister for a maximum of two years.

Purpose;

The purpose of the Committee is to provide advice to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness on pragmatic measures to reform Canada’s firearms policies, laws and regulations to ensure a modernized firearms regime that will keep Canadians safe and safeguard their rights and freedoms in an open and democratic society.

DUC response - That dog don't hunt! Not for me at least.
"The critical element to the future and livelihood of the hunting community is habitat." How about freedom to own/use firearms?!? Ever try hunting waterfowl with a slingshot?
Use us, and then say 'not our fight/area of expertise' in our 'hour of need'... You're not the only ones that can withhold support. Let's see how that works out for you...
