I got bored last night and sanded the checkering off my stock. I still need to go over it with a finer paper, but I think it turned out OK. I'm going to grab some pachmayr "Pac-Skin" for the forend, grip and buttstock.
What barrel have you got on that?

I got my PC receiver mount and VQ extended bolt handle. (Ordered from Hawktech, AWESOME people to deal with btw) I swapped the parts and took it to the range. I'm happy with this set up. Once sighted in, if I could see it, I could hit it. It was fun bouncing plastic bottles around the 100M line.
I need a new stock. Or paint this one? Hhmmm....

Looking good Nine! I really like that mount.
I'm thinking you might as well paint your stock. It's already been sanded once so if the paint job blows, you could just scuff it back to what you have now. I've got some 'extreme digital camo' vinyl stencils from Bulldog Arms if you're looking to try something like this:

Glad to hear it's accurate. I'm going to be building one soon with the same barrel for the bush and hunting, and I like how compact it is. It's even better than my 16.5" tac-sol barreled gun, and I thought that was kick-ass.
The gun looks awsome Nine. But, I'm not a big fan of the rail you used.... I feel it raises the optic too high from bore line. I have one I'm going to be selling if anyone is interested. I just haven't gotten it on the ee yet.
I have a tac-sol rail on my current build and love it. It's super low, I'll be getting another one for my next build. I also have a Kidd trigger. It is so nice. I want another for the next build as well, but it's pretty pricy....

I had a modified weaver mount before I got this one. Yeah, its a bit high, BUT it helps by giving a bit of clearance to the bolt handle. The EOTech is as wide as the stock. I needed something with more slots, this one is a bit higher than I thought though, but it seems to work just fine. An interesting note on the EOTech, I canted the optic so the dot was just barely visible on each of the four edges of the lens; it does not impact POI. It works as advertised. I love it.

Yeah, all the red dots are like that, no parralax worries.
If you can put the dot on the target, that's where the round goes.
Makes shooting with gas masks, helmets, tac muffs/radios a lot easier.

Ronin's focussing more on the AR-15 kind of thing now, so don't look for 10/22 replenishment anytime soon (or at all). He did an excellent service for the 10/22 owners @ CGN, while it lasted - we salute him!

I loves my ER Shaw brl. I just dug it out of my parts box and shot a few rds with it today...Needs me a tan or OD over molded stock. I am running a Bushnell trophy red and green sight currently. I also needs me a YHM Flash Hider!
