Well, as I said earlier, they messed up my first purchase big time, BUT they took care of it and did solid on the next 2, and being in retail (99% on line and over the phone) myself, I understand how Harrier .45 feels when the silly or mundane questions never seem to end. Mistakes happen, the people that work at Epps are human, sh!t does happen, I can look beyond the odd mistake, I will continue to build a long lasting relationship with them![]()
dealt with epps on two transactions. nothing great about them, but nothing negative either. only thing i hate about epps is most of the firearms and ammo are locked away where you cant see them. local shop here has all its firearms on the wall and in the display cases. ammo is the same way. thats how i like it. i know epps probaly has the largest collection of firearms going in canada but for cripes sake start showing some of them off. i like my eye candy.
Truth be told, I have never been in a gun store and had friendly service. Something about gun store employees??? Make it simple, know what you want, ask if they have it, and get the hell out!!! Next......
I think all stores need an 'I know exactly what I want to buy and then gtfo as fast as possible ' line.

As for ammunition, the CFO mandated during their last inspection that we cannot display open cases of ammunition in the gun room. Many of our customers will recall that we used to keep boxes of the most common ammunition available for them to pick off a shelf as they required. Unfortunately, we must now keep all opened cases in our ammunition magazine, away from visual access to the customer. Only sealed cases are permitted on the gun room floor, hence the flats of sporting shotgun loads, and sealed cases or crates of military ammunition that are piled to one side of the room.
Hey OP sorry to hear about your troubles. Personally I thought they were a good company to deal with. Hate thier email system of two emails to ask for Pics and to ask for info. But there is probably a reason for that that I haven't seen. Hope you find what your looking for.
That sucks.
I have, personally, had two poor experiences with them and won't deal there again.
I dont think the above post is too off base.
I love the store but you got to listen to the constructive criticism, it is often a pain to get ammo or reloading supplies. Set up a dedicated ammo/reloading line.
Hell no one even knows what ammo/reloading components you have in stock or what prices, set up a ammo/components price list too
At the start of this thread I made a post that the first time I tried to deal with them would be my last. They contacted me and asked me to explain what happened. I did that the very next day.
Two months later I get an email back. They questioned if my problem had ever really happened in the first place. Also they stated that I should have complained right away to them and not on this forum.
I informed them that I was the customer and if I thought that I had received bad service that I would handle it however I wanted to. I also informed them if he had just stated that in the future they would try and do better that everything would have just gone awaybut by making excuses and trying to blame me I figured that this must be a common thing that happens with this store.
Just my two cents worth.
