FN America, LLC proudly announces the introduction of the all-new FN High Power™, a completely reimagined pistol based on the legendary 1935 design conceived by John Moses Browning and perfected by Dieudonné Saive. The FN High Power carries forward the most iconic features of the original design, modernized for today’s sport shooter.

The High Power is such an iconic design, and synonymous with FN really. We recognized the gravity of reintroducing this newly redesigned pistol with such a storied history,” said Mark Cherpes, President and CEO for FN America, LLC. “Rather than introduce a clone of the original, we had to deliver much more than other brands, knowing the FN High Power would be held to a higher standard. FN pays homage to the prolific design, while modernizing the ergonomics, functionality and operation. We respect what this pistol has meant to generations of FN collectors and feel the new FN High Power dovetails perfectly with the rest of the FN pistol line, carrying a future-forward design to the next generation of shooting enthusiasts.

40 OZ.

17 round magazine. Full length guide rod, Sig-like lockup vs. internal lugs.

High Power in name only. Many guys on US forums have similar sentiments.

Is it wrong for me to wish that they came out with a railed version? It seems strange to make such sweeping changes in order to modernize the design, and then choose to omit such a feature. Ah well, I guess I have those plastic guns to get my tacticool fix.

Modern pistols really should offer the choice of rail or no rail. I can't stand them myself, but they have their uses.

Springfield, now this, so glad I picked up a real one around the time it was announced discontinued.

Not trying to go off post here. Just find it interesting that Springfield Armory just came out with their version of the updated P-35 as well.

Oh I have to assume it was a timely announcement :p

Neither Springfield nor FN has increased the length of the grip extension below the hammer.

Springfield did play with the configuration of the hammer, and perhaps FN has as well.

But, to interest me, a “beaver tail” is a necessity.

I'm happy with my oldies. Inglis CH from Aug. 1945 and T series from 1967. Both have the ring hammer. The new ones are nice but they aren't original. Curious as to what corners were cut in their redesign.

They just gotta ruin the classics...

I find it somewhat amusing that they added a internal extractor (deleted circa 1961) and the thumb cut (deleted circa 1959).

guys in the US (who say they've held it) are saying it's about 25% larger than a BHP, and if the barrel is 4.7" I would guess that to be an accurate assessment.

I agree, less chance of hammer bite for meaty hands and they look more balanced as well to my eye with a beaver tail. I think Girsan might be releasing a beaver tailed but also railed version.
