From Lapua SK to ELEY

Tesro Canada sells sample packs for rimfire ammo. Low, medium and high end packs. I've bought a few packs but don't have a good rimfire that I am will to try in, yet.

CZ LRP is my best so far.

CZ makes great rifles and yours is more than worthy of your sample packs for testing. Just pick a good day with little or better, no wind. If you keep it too long and find a real winner you may not be able to get that lot number. I would shoot groups of five and the entire box before switching to the next box. If they’re all the same brand they should have the same type bullet lube.

About 20 years ago I shot well enough to be picky about ammunition. Now even bulk stuff shoots better than I'm capable of holding.. I don't worry too much about groups on paper unless I'm sighting in - then the ammo gets used on Richardson's Ground Squirrels (gophers, don'tchaknow).

Just checked the Tesro site and most everything is out of stock. Either it was all pre sold or the site hasn’t been updated yet. Hopefully the later for many shooters

Looks like nothing 'new' was added yet. The first 2-pages of 22LR is available, but much of the SK/LAPUA is OUT. Some other vendors have some in stock, but I'm waiting for Free Shipping vendors. An extra $70 on an order sucks.

Thanx Longstud.

I am finally close to be looking at a VooDoo or an Ultimatum Duece. Not sure about barrels/lengths/twist rates yet.

if your CZ has the match chamber, I would suggest finding a few lots of SK LRM and testing at 100yds... or further. Odds are it will shoot (a tuner is highly recommended to help with finding a suitable lot). If it shoots like the other CZs, you will be very happy. If LRM works, find the new Lapua super long range.

I know this is not a popular statement, but I would stay with the 457 over any Rem 700 based action. If you want a repeater, mags will make or break your performance. The CZ457 mag (and many other rimfire mags) are just better then the vast majority of Rem 700 rimfire mags.

{And yes, I compete tons and have seen no shortage of feeding issues with all the common options. For those lucky enough to get their set up to run 100%, congrats... hope it lasts.}

If the 457 barrel doesn't shoot, it is far better to swap in a match prefit barrel and it will.

If you haven't bedded the action yet, a very good idea and that can settle down the consistency of your groups.

Good luck with your new set up.

nelson, Thanks for that Sportique tip, I checked them 2-days ago and No Stock. I just placed an order, saved $40+ vs other sites. Discount for volume and ship was cheaper, too.

Tesro has received a huge order and we are preparing another large order of Lapua and SK.

They are moving significant quantities.

I guess you don’t sell barrels for Vudoo rifles. Transparency yah think

Of course I can offer barrels.. for any action.

Doesn't change the mag issue. The barreled action for pretty much all Rem 700 platforms can shoot well... it is the feeding that is the weak spot (and on rare occasion, ejection).

And you also know this to be true.... given how much you compete. Hard to imagine, you don't see this at almost every match.

Funny how a such a prominent issue is dismissed cause it is part of popular culture.

wonder if the 15rd mag will ever get sorted out????

Well of the Vudoo s that I’ve owned I didn’t have these problems that you speak. The problems start when certain chassis are used without being able to adjust mag height. Never owned a metal mag but know many that do. As far as failures in rimfires, more on operator than the equipment. The Vudoo I gave my buddy now sits in a manners and he’s fired thousands of rounds on top of the many thousand that I shot and no problems with any feeding or extraction. Lots of Vudoo s being used in competition and I just don’t see what you do. If they are that problematic I don’t understand why they’re so popular!! SemiAuto guns are no good either cuz of their unreliable and not accurate. Think we’ve both proved that’s a fallacy as well.
