Regularly moderating ads on the EE.... Noticed a lot of Glock Model 19X's posted for sale....

Curious minds want to know why?

Because people buy them for the novelty of a small frame Glock and for ccw (for the ones that carry south of the border) and quickly realize that the gun is horrible to shoot. At least this was why I bought mine and sold it after only shooting 2 mags through it.

Flame on. Lol

I kinda hate Glocks but I bought a 19x and then bought another. I find them more enjoyable to shoot than the other Glocks I own or have tried.

Why are they selling? Probably because people always flock to the new shiny things and then something else catches their attention, or they need the money or it turned out too be just another 9mm and they realize they like their CZ better. ;)

19X is 17 size frame and 19 slide, that's not small frame or all that good for CCW.

Maybe not a very small frame, but it’s intended for ccw and lots of guys use it just for that.

I hated the trigger, grip angle and length.

And yes, I definitely prefer my cz p07 for ccw

Whenever I considered a Glock an alternative would come out better. Reviews touted 19X as Gen 5 as surprisingly good with the "best Glock trigger ever". So decided to give it a try, bought new at a good price, took delivery and put it up for sale unfired next morning: quality of plastic, grip angle, shallow trigger guard, pinchy and creepy trigger made my trigger finger tip and the web next my thumb sore after a dozen of dry fires and 30 min of handling.

I shot one a few times and wasn't a fan but then I was recently at the range with a friend who has one and I got a lot more time to get a feel for the gun. I thought the most important difference over my gen 5 g17 was the balance, that shorter slide makes the gun feel perfectly balanced in my hands and I loved it. I bought one less than a week later. Just waiting on the transfer now.

My first was a Glock 17 gen 3 and it’s still my favourite. My range has a Glock day each year and I’m ready for a new one. I’ll try each and go home with the best feel.

I consider my Glock trigger to be a challenge, not exactly fun to shoot. It's a cheap plastic duty pistol.

I've heard people compare triggers to breaking a glass rod... My G19 is more like wringing out a wet sponge.

When I was buying my 17 Gen 5, I sampled a few different units in-store. Most of them had crisp breaks (well, as crisp as can be expected for a striker gun) but some had really spongy and uncomfortable trigger pulls. I think it really depends on a luck of the draw sometimes, especially if you're ordering without sampling the unit first.

My 17 is great, I don't regret it at all. Among the softest shooting nines I've ever fired, and I've done so with about a dozen guns now.

Because other than bureaucratic contract reasons the 19x makes no sense over just buying either a 19 or a 17 it basically has neither of their strengths and both their weaknesses... it does nothing better than an existing glock model... which barring the stock sights are perfectly acceptable handguns despite the usual nonsense I am reading about grip angle and trigger.
