Glock 19X - Why So Many For Sale?

Well, these tests don't show these handguns accuracy, but your accuracy with every given handgun. Other shooters will get different results. They also don't represent other important factors like ergonomics. Even more - there's a chance you will get different results if you try to shoot same handguns with timer or transitioning between targets.

So how would you suggest a person test a handgun for practical accuracy? Other than clamping on a Ransom Rest?

I’ve never found ergonomics to have any effect on accuracy. A good sight picture and a good trigger are more important to me. For control during rapid fire and manipulation of the controls, for sure, but not for slow fire accuracy.

Testing a handgun for transitioning between targets or with a timer isn’t a test for accuracy. It’s more a test for competition suitability or combat effectiveness. Since I was in a no holster allowed lane shooting environment, there was no way to test that.

Having carried a concealed G22 quite a bit I can say that the printing issue is pretty over stated. Holster position, clothing type, and tugging at/adjusting your gun give it away a lot faster than the size of the frame. If you leave your crap alone you'd be surprised how much you can successfully conceal under a loose fitting button up shirt.

If I had a choice at work I'd rather have a 19x or 45. I'd rather keep the grip size and lose the slide length. Shorter slide clears the holster faster and the shorter sight radius get you a faster (but less precise) sight alignment.

This gun was designed for combat rather than target shooting. There is a real purpose to this pistol if you understand how to use it.

Why are they horrible to shoot?
Will the Glock 48 be better?

Without going through the whole thread, I think the M 48 is the reason.
Better pistol for IDPA. And there's no reason in Canada to be stuck with a wide framed gun, for no reason.
Unlikely we'll ever be able to put more than 11 bullets in our pistol, at one time.

Not until someone invents a gun that is a magazine of magazines. Shoot 10, pump action drops the first mag and inserts a second.

Good luck in using the Glock 48 in IDPA, or the 43X. There are no magazines to be had! Nowhere. Aftermarket manufacturers are tooling up, but no 10 or more extra round magazines at this time, Glock are supposed to have a Glock Sports holster in the planning stage? But not yet.

Problem when people say it's no problem to conceal a full-sized handgun, it's they assume everybody is shaped like them and can dress like them. Which couldn't be further from reality.

I wonder what size of handgun fat undercover cops, detectives or Trudeau’s security entourage carryLaugh2 In other words who gives a ####, CCW is not a reality for us Canadian.

Regularly moderating ads on the EE.... Noticed a lot of Glock Model 19X's posted for sale....

There is a CCW law in Canada, throughout the land. It can be issued by the RCMP, easily. A cross Canada one.

Case in point. A young lady Cook in a Lumber Camp in Edmington, she was the only female on the camp, was quite worried for her safety. She approached the RCMP HQ. No local Police force. Applied, and received a Cross Canada Permit. They are issued for a one-year time frame.

She purchased a .357 Magnum Revolver, that had been ordered, but not purchased from a Gun Shop.
It was a product of the S&W Speciality Shop. Magnum Grips (Big) worked over innards, adjustable sights.
How did I know? I examined it in a Court Case I was the expert witness for, this Revolver. A young Lady by the Name of Phebe Reed. Who had shot an Indian/Pakistani? Owner of costume jewellers, on Younge Street. Long Story!

After the issuance of this permit, the Cook left for Toronto by train. She had enough of that job! (It stated cross Canada? So off she went) The friend she shared an Apartment with, our Phebe borrowed it, to go a robbing. The permit was not offered in evidence that I saw, just mentioned.

Why can this permit system not be issued to anyone who wants one? It does not have to be used to cross Canada, just to stay in one City if you want? but you could tote your pistol, across Canada, if you so desired. This is the best permit in North America, nothing like it in the USA.

Unless you are a US Marshall. With ID and a Badge.

19X is 17 size frame and 19 slide, that's not small frame or all that good for CCW.

Is the 19x grip not about 1/2" shorter than than of 17's ? That would explain some. I own 17 and 22 and despite having average size of hand, I've found 19's grip a little too short for comfortable fit.

Wonder if they would have issued it to a male working alone in camp full of females? lol
