Glock 19X - Why So Many For Sale?

There was a lot of hype over them and there were a TON of them sold in the last year. I would say the number of them for sale is relative to any other gun on a percentage basis. The only people complaining about them are people who don't like any Glocks.

I love my 19x. I wanted the 19 slide but i have big hands so naturally i went with the 19x. Im also tired of black so the peanut butter was a bonus, it shoots great, the sights are good for factory, and my trigger is smooth.

They sold tons of them, which is probably why theres a few on the ee. I wont be selling mine.

After reading this thread, a CGN buddy and I decided to compare his G19X against his M&P 2.0 with an Apex trigger, a Canik TP9SF and my Gen 2 G19. These were the results of my groupings from 10m and 5m with 115gr. CCI Blazer.

10M groups, not yards on the target. Range was in meters.

5M groups

The G19X shot well. But what was suprising was the Canik. It had more muzzle rise than the others but was quite accurate in this group of polymers.
I really enjoyed the G19X. Would get one if I didn't already own a couple of Glocks.

Regularly moderating ads on the EE.... Noticed a lot of Glock Model 19X's posted for sale....

Curious minds want to know why?

NAA.

Full frame on short slide...nothing new...what's not to like?

Love 1911 Commanders (foolishly sold mine), my FNS9 and if I had a 19X, it ain't going anywhere.

Your 19x should have come with Glock night sights from the factory? Mine did. Did you buy used and abused??

It was new. Unfortunately The Shield ones were without the night sights. I’ll be upgrading them.

Not that surprising. The Canik is a copy of the Walther p99. However where it falls short is the cerekote finish vs nitride of the real Walther and the other pistols listed at this level. It’s worth paying the extra and getting a real Walther P99 or ppq.

Another pistol to also consider is the CZ P10C.

The 19X was a gimmick gun since the beginning, not really something useful for the average consumer. Especially with that annoying notch on the front of the magwell which prevented the use of new Glock mags. I think this recent trend of people dumping them shows this clearly.

well, as a M&P fanboy it brought me over and got me buying one specifically because they deleted the finger grooves which i hated and they put a ambi slide release on it.
i dont find those gimmicky upgrades in fact as a left handed shooter i find is essential.
glock stated they sold 100,000 of the 19X pistols last year.
you get 100,000 of anything in the market in 1 year there is going to be turn over, assuming turn over means there is something wrong with them is silly.
saying the Toyota Camry is a cruddy car because there are so many of them for sale would be silly when you consider that there are more Toyota Camry's on the road then any other car.

The CCW argument is retarded. It's not the slide that's important to be smaller for concealment, it's the frame/grip, that's what prints the most. The 19X (and G45) got the concept backwards. Not for CCW, AT ALL (it was designed for the military after all).

Yep. For CCW you want a thin frame, and a shorter grip. The 19X was designed with open carry in mind for those who spend most of their day outwardly holstered and sitting at a desk or in a vehicle. Not for concealed carry.

I had one and sold it so I think I quality to answer the question. I already have a gen 4 glock 17 (uses same mags = awesome) and after taking a good look I liked the fit and the look of the g17 more. Wasn't a fan of the ambi slide release and the slide to frame gap as a result. Also I had nicer sighs on the g17 and trigger was better too (polished 3.5 connector) so all that plus the fact that gen 4 has horrible resale price made the decision easy.

Well, these tests don't show these handguns accuracy, but your accuracy with every given handgun. Other shooters will get different results. They also don't represent other important factors like ergonomics. Even more - there's a chance you will get different results if you try to shoot same handguns with timer or transitioning between targets.

For some reason I'm finding this post incredibly funny, esp the bold part. lol!

Many people have different reasons for selling them. You would have to ask each individual what their motivation to sell was?
