Grumpy Wolverine covers up a UTAS UTS-15 fail!

Whats up with the Vendetta against Wolverines?

You really expect a double barrel, duel mag tube shotgun to be 100000000 % percent reliable.

I was really tempted to grab one from canadaammo last month since they had come down in price from the first couple of batches but I think I'm going to wait a bit longer to see if the newest improvements in the gen4's are actually improving the reliability.

I don't think the op has a vendetta against them, but it is odd that they experience a total stoppage failure that could not be cleared in the video, then seemed to cover up a jammed-open action cover and the next words spoken were something like "see, works great, 100% reliable".

It's very odd. I'm surprised they would post it publicly.

Absolutely no vendetta against wolverine! Second to none in my opinion! I'm not expecting anything to work 100% of the time! I do however expect a review to be exactly that! A review, not a cover up! That just looks bad! Grumpy is a great guy! He should have not posted that video! Lmfao

Agreed

It would be interesting to know how many rounds were loaded—the cut in the video doesn't show. If it was just one tube (i.e. the seven rounds we see in the video) then having the cover open up a bit when hip shooting as fast as possible is more of an irritant than a serious problem. If there were more than seven loaded and having the cover interfere with the loading and extraction process is a more serious issue.

Before the cut away, "I'll load up another magazine", usually that means fully. I know when i load a firearm, i know EXACTLY how many i put in the mag, after 7, he continues to try to cycle it. To me, there was more in it.

if he was honest about it, guns jam, especially limp wristed.

I do NOT own a UTS-15, so I stand to be corrected here, but...

The shooter looks initially surprised that the gun stops cycling and then says something about "I guess I'm out of ammo already" then "she functions, she works well, it's all good." He transfer the gun to another hand and uses his left hand to obscure the cover being jammed open. Hi thumb is hooked over the cover and you can see he's casually pushing down, trying to close it unsuccessfully.

UTAS covers, I believe, are supposed to snap down into place with minimal force. If the cover were just popped loose, his placing his hand over it and pressing down as in the video would have closed it gain.

I'm wondering if there was not a double feed that jammed the cover up, making it impossible to close without opening it further to manually clear a jam.

Again, I'm not a UTAS shooter and may have an imperfect understanding of how they fail or jam.

They should have just re-shot that part of the video, or cut out the hip-shooting section.

^ or honestly admitted the jam happened...in my opinion, it's supposed to be an objective review of the shotgun's function.

Isn't he on vacation?

Yes he was on vacation....enjoying time away and outdoors with family, I spend too much time in front of a computer as it is....but I'm back now. Also I don't monitor all the forums to see if people are talking about Wolverine, so until someone else points it out to me, I don't always know there is a major catastrophe.

First off I would like to thank you for bringing this video to my attention, that will teach me for not viewing the final "cut" all the way to the end before saying it was good to go up. This one is indeed a take that had some malfunctions caused by some poor quality non-brand 12 gauge ammo. The rims on it were slightly undersized and allowed some of the rounds to push past the stop on the loading block, jamming the shotgun and flipping up the cover. Once we changed out the ammo for some Score and Federal (I think the second brand was federal) we had no issues what so ever, and somewhere there is the proper ending to show it, but no idea where it might be now.
If you are asking why I continued to carry on instead of stopping when we had the jam, it was for my own purpose. None of these videos are scripted and I wing them as I go along, so I just carried on at that point to try out an ending and see how it sounded etc. At the end of the day, it is completely my fault this video got put up with the wrong ending on it, as I didn't watch it all the way through. It wasn't an attempt to "snow the masses". Mistakes happen, but if you want to believe otherwise that is your call, everyone needs something to make them feel good.

I do take offense to the comments saying that a sale is more important than the truth. I don't get paid commission, I get paid the same whether we sell one or two hundred. I certainly do not get asked to lie by Mr. Wolverine to make a product look better. That would not be condoned and certainly not what Wolverine has built their business on.

Anyone who has followed me on here since I started with wolverine knows full well that I will say flat out if I don't like something or if I feel something is subpar, regardless of whether we are the importers for not for it.

The new versions (Gen4) of these shotguns work very, very well and there is no problem firing them from the hip or one handed etc (I guess I'll have to fire up another video to show that). The demand for these shotguns is at an all time high now and we are getting incredibly good feedback from dealers and end users. They are even being evaluated by police and the military. As I have always said, they aren't for everyone, but they sure as hell as a lot of fun and with the lower price these days, it makes them even more attractive.

I'm not sure why so many are thinking that this video was supposed to be an unbiased product review. Anytime, someone has something to financially gain from marketing a product or service, you should treat the video as a commercial.

Why should anyone expect otherwise? The guy is in a video promoting the products that his employer is selling.

I've had great dealings with Wolverine but I wouldn't hold any of their employees up to such unrealistic standards, nor would I expect them to say anything negative about the products they represent.

Good enough for me. Figured it had to be something like this. Next time, you need to "approve this message" like "Dubya" used to do when he was trying to get elected - lol.
