Gun control officially useless ; AR15s as easy to make as pancakes.

I am still trying to picture two guys in a jail cell.
"What are you in for?"
"Making chocolate."

I do love the idea of handing out chocolate lowers at a rally.
Who would they arrest? Anyone who develops acne?

Well Easter is coming ... solid chocolate lowers could sell really well!

That should go over great. Throw people in jail for possession of scary looking confections while the piece of crap that has plead guilty to 2nd degree murder for shooting a guy in the head as he sat in his own basement is out walking around while they decide if he gets an adult or youth sentence. I wonder how ol' Wendykins would feel about that?

If the chocolate lower is able to fire one round, even if it self-destructs after that round, it's considered a firearm.
Lol

Some more inflammatory evil thoughts to ponder - 3D printing is going to become commonplace and lower receivers machined for full auto are a no-no, but.... What if someone had the files to print one but didn't? They have the machine and the capability but they don't actually produce the part. Is that breaking any laws? Then, as someone pointed out, what if someone 3D printed a mould to cast polymer full auto lowers but instead of using polymer, they cast them out of hard candy. (cooked sugar) thus producing parts that are identical to unregistered illegal parts but edible and fragile? I wonder what if any charges could be laid? Unregistered restricted (or prohibited), replica, being a ####? Much like the people that baked cookies to look like phones to annoy the distracted driving types, I wonder how much of a ####storm this would cause.

I'm assuming you have a ##### , and you know what rape is ........ should you be charged with rape as a preemptive measure ?

Some of the more virulent femistas would say yes, I should be. But that's beside the point.
Canadian Firearms laws are an incomprehensible cluster#### that requires a completely stripped AR receiver to be treated as if it were a fully functional firearm as well as outright prohibiting replica firearms.
Also they attempt to criminalize intentions.
I made the post in an attempt to point out the absurdity of some of the rules.

I don't see how this has any bearing on the validity of gun control. I have no issue with the rules that I have to abide by as an RPAL holder. I could live with less admittedly.

To think that this technology and process is actually useful to our criminals in the procurement of an AR 15 is a bit much and very Hollywood.

It does nothing to the state or effectiveness of gun control in Canada in my opinion.

The anti-gun RCMP's nightmare made real. Imagine the fits we'd cause if small groups of shooters across the country threw in to buy a couple of moulds for each group and started having "casting partys" on a regular basis. Then dutifully requesting that the CFP register the new lower. You'd exponentially increase the number of registered AR pattern firearms in the registry to a point where they'd be so numerous that even the most ardent gun grabber sitting in the House of Commons would throw in the proverbial towel and admit that there is no justification for the AR being classified as restricted and recognize it as a legitimate hunting and sporting firearm.

I like the scope of your vision.

That and 3D printers the 'powers that be' may want to consider actually dealing with the criminal use of 'things' as opposed to trying to regulate the heck out of inanimate objects!

only because the lower doesn't handle much stress, and only because the firearm is the lower. it would be conceivable to have a control shift from the lower to the barrel & bolt, which are much more difficult to manufacture at home.

I've been thinking about precisely this.
