Gun Engraving

In regard to what I posted, entirely done by hand ,Brian i believe may use a pneumatic, but Paul does not
Using a pneumatic engraver IS “by hand”, not unlike comparing an air nailer to a hammer. MANY top name engravers learned the hammer/chisel them switched to pneumatic tools to save time, again, not unlike a framer or roofer switching to an air nailer.

Pretty obvious what this is so I'll let the pics do the talking. My impression is that the critters were very lightly engraved by a professional and the backgrounds done by a heavy-handed apprentice(?) Just back from the ultrasonic cleaner and now partly re-assembled pending finish of the stock.
