Gunsmiths that you recommend

Anyone looking for mill work, cerekote, inletting, clambering, threading, or general gunsmithing of any sort, should not hesitate at all to contact Andy Voight of Dragon rifles out of British Columbia. That fella is beyond top notch! After running into multiple issues with several OEM bottom metals, he milked me one out of aluminum and it has been absolutely flawless!! He built me the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. My new 6.5x284 hunting rifle will shoot a .426" group @300yds! And I took my antelope last fall at just over that with a clean one shot kill. Couldn't ask for a better guy to deal with. Highly recommended!!!

Barry at Bits of Pieces in Ladner, B.C. Super guy and awesome work.

He likes to talk & it seems he knows what hes doing but I would never in my lifetime send him another gun to work on....

I was not at all impressed with his work... in fact he sent me back a gun with a label that said - dont shoot this until you replace the main spring ...

Ummmmm...... your a gun smith - cant you fix that before you send it back ? or at least ask if I want that fixed ?

It was good though cause it forced me to stop using him.

other reviews said he was great - I'd say otherwise.

This will come as no surprise to those active in shooting in Canada, and he's probably been mentioned earlier in this thread, but Henry Rempel sure gets my recommendation.

I've had Henry do bedding work on a number of rifles now, and the work has been first-class. This kind of work isn't the most challenging, but I gather that Henry can do just about anything needed on guns. I found him to be very knowledgeable and completely professional (something I've not found with several other "gunsmiths" I've had the displeasure of using in the past)--excellent work, reasonable turnaround time, and very fair prices.

A big thumbs up for Chris Griesbach in Three Hills, Alberta. I had Chris checker a previously-uncheckered rifle stock. The work was absolutely first-class (beautiful large 24 lpi checkering patterns on both the grip and forend), was done in a very reasonable time (two weeks), and was fairly priced. Chris is a member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild.

Jason Spencer @ Gunco does great work for reasonable prices, not to mention fast turn around times.

VERY fortunate to have him here in Ottawa!
