Gunsmiths that you recommend

Jason (Gunco) I would recommend. I first met him when he was a young apprentice under old George Pole 30+ years ago. Make sure to communicate exactly what "you want" from a gunsmith. He will be very straight and direct with you. Assume nothing when talking to any gunsmith.

Yes, thought I had it covered what I wanted- bad trigger on the MAS, after 7 months started calling once a month to check in and the last email was- you've had it 9 months either finish it in 3 weeks or arrange to send it back, two weeks later got it in the mail. If I haven't personally got a track record with someone that's a problem- was getting nervous as I just spent big $$ having it redone (for some unexplained reason the trigger was left stock). What I expect from anyone is a realistic time line up front that I can agree to up front (maybe if he said 10 months I would think about it seriously) instead of wasting my shipping costs. It was sent out in Feb well clear of any hunting season. I hope Jason at Gunco will provide satisfaction.

Would like to know who is really good with obscure triggers. It is a 1945 Mauser kkw design- but no aftermarket Mauser trigger will drop in. I'm after about a 2.5-3lb pull and CLEAN break.

Is Jim Dugan still building target rifles in Saskatoon? Do-Guns was the company name. He built and trued both of my TRs back in the 90s (the 5.56) and early 00's (the 7.62) the 5.56 still puts handloads into 1/2 minute

Jason at Gunco!

Got an old revolver, which, when I got it, was as good as deactivated - cylinder spinning freely, hammer dropping down by itself , the barrel/cylinder assembly (this is a top open gun) loose and not locking properly ...... Would not dare to put a cartridge in it, never mind fire it. Sent it to Jason. Got it back as a fully functioning, reliable gun!

Henry Rempel, best gunsmith I have ever met. Makes some cool items. Best pricing around Calgary, helps out in every way possible(gun smithing to shooting techniques)never gouges for anything like some big name shops.

Steve Holborn in Warren Ontario made me a custom 338-06 several years ago. He did a beautiful job. Steve does my rifle work.
Rodger Kotanko in Simcoe Ontario is a fantastic smith and does all my handgun work.
Safe shooting
