Only if HK was willing to violate German firearms export laws.sad as it is RNicholls could have had a a CDN specific G36 build for us a long time ago...
This has nothing to do with HK "philosophy". Their hands are tied because of silly German laws that prevent sales of "military-style" firearms to civilians (including civilians in export markets). That's why the MR223 uses proprietary parts that are not interchangeable with AR-15 parts (unlike the HK416). I can guarantee that the HK243 will not simply be a semi-auto version of the G36 if it has any hope of being approved for civilian sales by the German authorities. There are significant costs involved in redesigning a gun to make it "civilian-legal" in the eyes of the German authorities. This is great news, even if it takes a year or two. This would be/is a major philosophical shift for HK, making semi only military look-a-likes available to civvy shooters, as they once did with the HK91/93/84 series.
Hey IRG,
When are you guys getting some Phased Plasma Rifles in the 40watt range?
they are just a civi version of the G36 like the SL8 already was so really why would it not be allowed?Theyll probably get thrown onto the "never to be touched" pile with the type 81 and the gsg stg44. The rcmp will never allow these to be sold
its not a matter of wether or not it would be allowed but how long the rcmp will delay issuing an frtthey are just a civi version of the G36 like the SL8 already was so really why would it not be allowed?
The construction will be vastly different than a G36 internally just like an SL8 as to not be easy to convert to full auto like a real G36
Those rails are ugly, give me the old school configuation with that sleek rail up top.
Yeah read the model numbers none say G36 they say HK243 for the Germans and US version is HK293.
Because companies can be strange at best - also since they have a BOD they will dictate what gets sold or not - sad as it is RNicholls could have had a a CDN specific G36 build for us a long time ago...

I know that people here love to hate on R.Nichols (perhaps justifiably so...I've never dealt with them myself) but they are a business like any other. They will sell whatever they can make money on.But then people might get the idea that RNichols is pro-gun, can't have that.
Tite tite tite. I gots ta axe tha RL1 to buy me one.

So what would be an example of R.Nichols arbitrarily withholding a Canada-legal firearm from the market? I'm really curious, cause that would be a rather bizarre thing to do..I'm sorry, but my experience, and that of many others, would indicate that this is simply not the case.
