Not to rain on your parade, but if you've ever read any of the older Guns&Ammo articles, 45 ACP out of a 1911 is a poor choice for feral pig or wild boar. Seems thier practical recommendations start at 357 or a heavily stoked 44 Special.tired and true 1911 government, 45acp and with that pistol i'd love to hunt wild boar
would be a rush and a half![]()
The solid performers were 45 Win Mag, 41 Magnum with cast, 45 LC heavy handloads, and of course 44 Rem Mag.(but we all know this already)
Since we may never see handgun hunting in Canada again, I am thinking about getting one of those "Mares' Leg" lever guns in 45 COlt. Maybe the closest thing we get to it!![]()
My trusty and accurate .357 Smith 686.
A rifle . . .
Something in a 475 Linebaugh is in my future.
Either a BFR or a Freedom Arms.
I figure it's relatively cheap to drive down to Wyoming and hunt antelope and mule deer with a handgun.
Just bought a Freedom '83, in .475 Linebaugh. So that would be it.
Anyone want to post pictures of what they'd use, if we could?
