has anyone tried instaling one of the Magwedge quick rails on a VZ58?

Magwedge,

I was going to mount a CMR 1-4x on mine. Here's a pic. The scope I think will set even lower than shown in pic. Do you think the adjustment knob will be in the way or getting hit and causing failures? Maybe this is the excuse I need to get a vortex spitfire 3x. Been wanting to try one ;)

I do not see an issue with the adjustment knob. It is well out of the way of ejecting shells that might be forced back into the receiver area.

This sounds about right:
I would at least move the front mounting bracket further forward. I think it's mainly the mounting brackets that get in the way. The rail should deflect the shell sideways enough to clear that nob shouldn't it? I'm not the expert here but that's what I would think...

Keep the mounting bracket as far forward as you can.

This may be a bit of over anticipation mind you as the Mepro shape may be the issue, but it doesn't hurt to keep that ejection port clear.

Right on! I'm going to give it a go. The rings are just on there loose. I just had them on to get an idea of the height it will be. I'll definitely move the rings as far apart as possible.
I should have stated in my post that it was The side knob I am concerned about because it sticks out as far as the top one.

Interesting product!

My apologies if someone has suggested this already, but what do you think about extending the rail out to the gas block (or thereabouts) so that one might have a long enough radius to make use of back-up sights? The only issue I could see is if that rail is unsupported that it could lead to flexing.

That said, is the rail quick enough to remove that if your optics went down you could have the rifle back up in 5 minutes by removing the rail?

It's about a 5 minute installation so I think it would be reasonably fast to return to original.

Mind you, the parts are small and easily lost, so practice this at home first. ;)

Exactly! Will you be sending out notifications to purchasers as these ship? Tracking #'s?

Notifications should be sent out automatically by (FRAUD ALERT) as the shipping is purchased.

Just received my new Magwedge cz58 rail in the mail,
On my lunch so unfortunately no time to test fit, I will post a pic or two later hopefully!
Thanks again Magwedge,

Got my 2, only had time to quickly put one on my rifle.

Question Magwedge, when i remove the rear sight am I suppose to still use the leaf spring underneath it to assemble the rail on the rifle?

Got mine all put together. Very easy! I had to remove my rear sight spring in order for the rail to fit and lift properly.

Looking good, so you too had to remove the sight leaf spring aswell??

Ok now I know I installed it correctly then, lol

Have you tired function testing it with snap caps??
I did and it worked perfectly, but of course I was cycling the action by hand so it may differ when it's actually firing (I hope not) but time will tell.
