How do you empty the cartridges from hinged floor plate magazine

That's the expensive way to do it.

I've never found it particularly arduous to cycle 4-6 rounds through a bolt rifle to unload it. Especially with CRF...no need to chamber the round at all, just let it pop out of the action and eject. Another reason CRF is better.
That is also what I do with my zastava, husky. The reason I asked this question is I want to make sure I do not miss out the usefulness of the hinged floor plate. I had always thought it as appendix, which is existing but useless.

An old timer I use to hunt with would take off his hat hold the hat under the floor plate and just let the cartridges into his hat.

I have found it painful to cycle each of the four rounds from my Zastava 9.3. I'm a road hunter, it is so easy to use box magazine for my savage. But for Zastava, I have to cycle it before entering my truck. What do you guys do? Open the floor plate to have the 4 rounds drop on the dirt?

Nice of you to admit to that, not many men would openly say that! Some folks frown big time on that type of hunting! Anyway, I hear ya. Box magazines are not for the "road hunter"! The hinged floor plate is not the most desirable for this type of hunting, either. What you want is the HDM. Hunter's Delight Magazine! Or if you will, a detachable magazine. You can make a last min (even second) decision as to whether or not to snatch it or snap it! Depending on the situation at hand.

oh shoot, I forgot the;)

Hold the rifle with one hand around the rifle at the floor pl ate.
Release the catch with the other hand.
Slowly let the plate open and catch the cartridges in your hands.

On cold days while wearing gloves I have used this method, using a hat to catch the cartridges.

Wow. I really didn't think that was a question. Good on ya, OP. Ask for what you don't know. I've been dumping the rounds from the floor plate for eons, it seems, but my P-14s and the Yugo M-48 are just too difficult to unlatch with heavy gloves on, so I cycle them out. Just keep your finger away from the trigger.

No matter how careful you are with a hinged floorplate you will eventually drop ammo in the snow/mud. I have rifles with blind mags, hinged floorplate, the funky Browning hinged flootplate and mag combo and original military bottom metal (Mauser). PF and CRF, 2 and 3 position safeties. The only method I've never used is sliding the Mauser floorplate forward to dump rounds out the bottom (too many things to drop in the snow).

A military type Mauser, requiring a pointed bullet to release the catch of the floor plate, ls very awkward to use and with them I would likely pump them out.
However, the alteration to the floor plate release that Husqvarna and others used, makes them my favourite type of magazine. So easy to hold them upside down while you remove the floor plate, then dump the shells in your hands.

The best part of this troll is that buddy would have to load multiple rounds ,to later unload, after spotting the animal and exiting the truck if he was following the regs...

Obviously, you are trolling. Nothing knowledgeable from your post. Garbage in, garbage out.
I read H-4831's post with respect, for a good reason. He has knowledge to share. You have nothing.

I hate detachable magazines and hunt exclusively with floorplate bottom metal and yes one does occasionally drop the odd round in the mud and snow, but it is much easier to clean one round or 3 than to have to clean an entire magazine filled with rounds and mud and snow. That is assuming the magazine is even still there when you get back to the truck and that assumes that you didn't leave the magazine on the kitchen table or loading table when you left at 05:00 in a half sleepy state. Did I mention I hate detachable magazines.......

Sorry I can't teach you how to unload your gun elker, I like single shots myself maybe you should try them.

Seriously though, see above or try ejecting them into the bed of your truck.
