Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

First Husqvarna

Just bought my first Husqvarna,1640,early 60's ,judging from page 1 late model Iwas hoping to put eaw swing off mounts on it but they do not list for Husqvarna so would I be looking for M98 mounts? Also I would just be needing the bases as I have set up off a sako , any info on a Canadian supplier would be helpful

No, a M98 base set won't fit a 1640/1600 action. The M98 is of the Large Ring design while the 1640/1600 action is of the Small Ring design.
If that's really what you want, contact EAW and ask them directly. They sure know what fits.

Met up with a guy this morning and picked up 3 1900 actions.

Far left is a Viking arms 1900 super lyx, second from the left is a husqvarna 8000 that needs some TLC (I'll get her looking good right away). Third is a beautiful Carl Gustaf grade III 300 Winchester magnum that will be on its way to another fellow gun nut and the far right is my 7mm grade III magnum.

I managed to get an hour's worth of sanding on the 6.5x55. Was going to use a spare stock I have from my Carl Gustaf 7mm but the barrel profile is different. Who knew? Baribal- the Viking arms has that lever which enables it to cycle the bolt while the safety is on. Can I remove this? I also need new bottom metal as the 8000 is crAcked on the forward bolt hole. Where can I find one of those?

Here are a couple pics:

Nice collection you're starting here.
Why would you want to remove the bolt release lever???
That's part of the Zoli action design (which is what the Viking's based on, together with a Belgian made barrel... )...
Personnaly, I almost never sand a stock unless it's in very bad shape...

Good luck finding and original 1900 bottom metal.... you can fit a 1640 one, even a M98, but you need some skills / knowledge to do so.... but it's doable..

Thanks Baribal, I wanted to remove that lever temporarily to test the fit in my spare stock before modifying the stock by adding a cut-out to fit the lever. I'll contact some relatives in Sweden to find me some bottom metal, and I'll see if Mr. Stenmark has one.

Viking Arms was partly owned by Viggo Classen - of VO Vapen fame - and they bought actions and stock in Italy and had the barrels made in Belgium.
VO Vapen still uses the Zoli actions.
Might be easier to contact Zoli USA for a bottom metal aseembly and Numrich ionce had some, but it's long gone.

Get Viggo to make one, hear his prices are good. Last one to take the internet by storm was $800 K. Almost broke the internet.

Those talons on the bolt were not my style. We need a Canadian version with a can of Pilsner engraved for the bolt knob and the bolt handle should have been a hockey stick. He might have had a couple more sales.

You can remove the release lever, but to do so, you have to almost take the whole trigger apart, and I don't suggest doing so.

Thanks Baribal, I will leave it as is. I've had enough fun with disassembling a gun and launching a spring into orbit. Don't want to do that with this one as replacement parts are a little tough to come by.

A new to me model 8000 in 7 rem mag.

A trio of 8000/9000 rifles
Top a HVA Gustaf deluxe in 25-06
A HVA Gustaf in 30-06
And my new husqvarna 8000, 7 rem mag.

Great guns. I'd take one of these over any modern day Sako.
