I know primers are hard to find right now, but are people really this desperate?

An old fart like H4831 (RIP) probably used a few hundred pounds of primers for truck bed weights! ;)

Not likely, Bruce was a good friend and only lived an hour away from me. The one thing about him that stood out, right from our first meeting is that Bruce was so tight with cash, he squeaked when he walked.

Bruce would never have taken a chance on ruining valuable primers.

I miss him.

There’s a guy at the Maple Creek gun show this weekend (Nov. 26-27) who has rifle primers for the bargain price of only $400 per 1000. He’s the kind of dude that sours people on gun shows. Don’t bother trying to tell me “that’s capitalism at work”. Nope. Pure, unadulterated greed.

Tried it before I would rather crush my nutz in a vice than try and make even 10 primers that way again.

It's much easier to look for a formulae online and get the proper materials.

When I did it, I scraped the priming compound out of 22LR rims. There was a place online a few years ago that you could order the chemicals to make up that priming mixture.

No matter which method you try, it won't be as good as those made in the factory.

For those who are lacking in components-

Shortages/Rationing began in the early 90's during the liberation of Kuwait/Saudi Arabia.

With 90+ bricks of Federal/REM/CCI primers on hand,I'm set for my days on this AFU planet,& the 400+Lb's of powder will push many cast & jacketed projectiles thru multiple pistols & rifles.

I'll stop reloading before I pay 120$ for a brick.

Lots of people said the same thing when the price went from under $20 to $30

13 cents per round isn't going to break the wallet, nor is the extra cost of other components.

It's still way cheaper than even the cheapest commercial offerings right now and for the ''average'' handloader, 1k primers will last them a lifetime.

Just noticed a guy on EE asking $500 for a brick of large rifle primers, but he said he would "deliver" them. Talk about GREED.

In Manitoba on the other gun site which shall not be named Large Rifle Magnums routinely sell for between $450 and $550 and does not include shipping, these are not hanging around for more than a day either.

When there is no supply an item is worth whatever the buyer and seller agree it is worth.

I can give you the name and number of a guy in Winnipeg routinely importing edit: Federal 210 Large Rifle Primers from Alberta and selling for $250 if it helps you.

Thank you for the offer but I have no need for CCI 210s.
