My advice would be to consider 24" barrel length as minimum to control velocity loss & muzzle blast. If I were to do it over again I would not purchase that browning A-bolt with a 22" barrel.

I'd probably go with an older 700 Remington, spin on a Krieger barrel, bed it in a McMillan stock and call it a rifle.

I could probably lie and call it a five shot group but there were four of us shooting the same rifle, a Remington 700V in .25-06 at 200 metres. I thought it was three that I had shot but there are definitely four. The rifle likes the 115 Nosler BT.
