Ideas for Dominion Arms

We inquired on the shovels earlier this year when that vid came out. The answers we received indicated they were not interested in our business. There are several threads on it.

Anyone got a link to one of these threads?

Would love a couple of these. Weird they wouldnt want the business?

How about an 870 clone that comes NOT ONLY with the 12.5" barrel, but a 26" threaded choke barrel? Say for $360-400 Canadian?

"Uh, what's the point?" you ask, well how about this: it's handy for bears and 2 legged monsters, but if you want some practice you would be welcomed at the Trap and Skeet clubs too. As well, you could do some duck hunting, with the same little 'tactical' shorty.

See, anyone can get a Remington and get a short bbl for it, or get a Dominion and hope a trap barrel is for sale that will fit...but both will cost more money, and you may have to tinker with it due to fitting differences. If they were included as a package, it would be cheaper and you would be assured it would work right out of the box.

What do you guys think?

Since they're building the M4s now, does Norinco have plans to make ARs in any other configurations or try their hand at .308 ARs?
First, Norinco does not build most of the guns they export. The M4 is made at the old Jianshe Chongqing plant AFAIK.

And to answer your question, they would need a 308 AR to copy. Getting it there is not easy, and they would have almost no market if they did make it. Since it cannot go to the US, and they are the only market of size that would want a 308 AR.

Well, for better or for worse Norinco is the label it's being exported under. Power supplies are typically referred to as from the brand they're sold under despite the brands often keeping multiple OEMs and designs for the product.

Ah, I was wondering about the .308 because with the CQ-A, aren't they geared more towards foreign government sales with civilian exports as a side activity? I couldn't know if any of their institutional customers were looking for a .308 DMR to go with their M4 clones, but I guess not. Also, it wouldn't be one of the modern variations, but Burma and Sudan were both customers of the original AR-10s way back when.

Yes. I understand from the end-user it is Norinco. It is only because I know the plants as individual entities that have Norinco and Poly as customers.

Civi sales are peanuts. 308 is a MG cartridge in most end users eyes. 60 years ago when the AR10 was being sold it was the new thing, but we know where that went.

Sounds almost like the Russians where three separate companies are licensed to produce Flankers and compete with each other for export contracts

So the real question shouldn't be what ideas we have, but what their existing product line looks like. Do we get any hints? ;)

Sort of, but these days the factories general make different products. Int eh old days, they would have several making AK, SKS, etc.

basically, yes.

So is the rem 870 clones (grizzly's) being sold for non civi, aka law enforcement or military?

 More goodies to come :D

So in short there is basically no chance of any of our Canadian ideas actually becoming a firearm, your simply bringing in what they are already making?

Is "Dominion arms" what the manufacturer decided to call their line up, or is that what you guys chose/ what the exporter chose?

btw I LOVE MY GRIZZLY!!! Goes well considering my ATV is also called a Grizzly.
I have Yamaha Grizzly clothing to wear while shooting my grizzly that i can take with me this summer while riding my grizzly

I'm not sure if someone has suggested it already (and I'm not going to read 48 pages to find out!:D) but I would love to see a lever action of some sort. I would love to see a pistol caliber carbine, and maybe a clone of the Winchester 94 trapper in 30-30.

Next time you see news about a riot in China, check out what the riot cops are carrying. They look an awful similar to the Grizz and Grizz Mags

Aside from China, I notice that Calico is back in business, and have a .22 line. Is there any particular barrier to bringing in the helical mag rifles? (Aside from an advanced case of extreme ugliness, of course)
