Is 7.62x39 drying up?

Good Golly!

Glad I dumbed my stock portfolio that was gaining me nothing a few years ago..... Liberals better not ban lead ammo.... or my new stock will fall.

It seems right now it may be or atleast smoke and mirrors. I think its the fact that whenever a bunch(specifically non corrosive) comes available, it is bought up instantly.

I have found LOTS of surplus corrosive, but i would much prefer non corrosive, leaving me in the same boat of not finding anything. TONS in the states available. Perhaps a group buy will wiggle some canadian suppliers to bring up a few skids? Haha. Im beginning to cave and just buy a crap ton of corrosive lol

Hmmmmmmmmm IMHO it really depends on what you call "lots."

I haven't seen large quantities around for quite awhile. The local CT in Vernon still has some case lots but it's not cheap. $450 might get you a 1200 round box out the door. They've also pulled all of their SKS rifles because of the recent unpleasant mass shooting events. Sad. Brandon will definitely feel that.

My local CTC just ordered a pallet of Chinese 1500 rounds! But they prefer to sell by the pack or tin, the crate will be around $400 now, there is x39 around but the new price from the importers is a bit higher, so maybe the dealers are stocking lees of it and just order as needed! Easier to keep a pallet or two around when it is cheap, not so much anymore!

Don't forget to add the 12% taxes. Like it or not it's all part of the cost.

Haha your prolly right by standard of lots, but yes it certainly isnt cheap these days, but far cheaper than most non corrosive if you can find it. Dels in Vernon had alot of it, but apparantly is out and may not be getting more tins/crates in. Something about the supplier. CT had nothing when i was there last week except hornadys at 50+tax bucks a box of 50

Also, if you can't find a sponsor with x39 or x54 or pretty much any other you are searching for, then the snarky company who shall not be named has lots in stock but please check out everyone else first!

Is that the remanufactured stuff?

Doesnt say, but i believe dominion are usually factory remanufactured which is far different from just straight reloaded, most cases wind up better than the surplus. Worth it to me, but thats me. Least so far mine and my buddies experience. Hes used alot of DA ammo, i tried a few hundred last weekend, never any issues. Hes ran a few thousand with no issues, prefers it to the surplus he used to run

Look like no more European and Russian surplus.

There is sooooo much available Russian, European, and Chinese surplus ammunition available that you can give every gun owner in Canada 10 Million rounds and no one would miss it from stock.

As I have said before, if dealers don't feel like they can profit from it, they will not import it, or sell it. Lots of this stuff is $0.15 - 0.18 a round in US dollars. look at the exchange rate and do the math.
