Well, unless there are 10-round pistol mags that fit the Tavor (I didn't see any mention of it using AR magazines), it won't be the coolest non-restricted rifle in Canada. For now, I'll keep dreaming about owning a Masada.

Canfire, it's non-restricted and uses the 10-round AR15 pistol magazines. ;)

If one doesn't like it - one doesn't have to buy it... simple. I have enough AR -poodle guns and for myself I like the Tavor...then again I also like the other plastic guns Glocks and XDs.

Its new, its different, and it would sure make the old farts at the gun club have the big one.

Part of the problem is that most gun sites have VERY old info on the Tavor. There are so few in the hands of posters that they have compiled prototype and pre-production info into modern "fact". I wish I could pay USD$1000 for a Tavor, but that is definitely not the FOB price. Dollar for dollar the Tavor is not a big money maker for me. I did it to bring a cool modern gun to Canada. As fas as I know we are the only supplier in the world of the civie S/A Tavor.

Tavor...

Even if we are the only country in the world to get em as civies.... price point.... $3000 +Tax and S&H and remember our current fiscal demands....

Not cheep. You will need to really want one inorder to buy one. I like em but cannot part with 3000 bucks - even if it does have optics on it. Does it come with 1/2 dozzen mags? nope.

Here in Alberta gas is $1.08/L and I bet 1.4/L for summer, and I still need to get to work and home.

The Tavor at that price will only subscribe to people with cash or really want one. The CZ-858 for the price allowed anyone and everyone to get one. I know the Tavor will cost more than a 858 but 3000 seems high.

Did CanAM sign an exclusive dealership licence with IMI/IDF? or will these be showing up at other Canadian shops that import from Israel? I would be interrested to see if there is a price change on this thing.

Tavor isnt gas for your car, and its not the only rifle in existance, so if you dont like the price you dont have to buy it, add to that CanAm offers a payment plan and is opening the door to future IWI guns I think its worth it. Maybe there will be negev's in the future.

LOL an albertan crying "have not" LOL.

Can am the price is right on the mark.

Tim hortons coffee medium $1.20 * 5 per week= $6.00*52= $312.00

Cable TV $60.00/month*12= $720.00

Basically anyone will drop a grand a year on commercials and diabeties but that same person will balk at buying non depreciating goods at market value???? forgive me if my prices above are wrong.

Thanks for taking the time to bring these in.

As for the original question:

Yeah sure the IDF just adopts new infantry arms in a willy nilly haphazard kinda way. Think about it, of all the infantry troops in the world who is amongst the most likely to use thier weapons? I 'am thinking Isreal does'nt prescribe to the flavour of the day mentaility when it comes to design and procurment. This rifle is a unique opportunity to own a SA Non restricted version of one of the most modern comabt arms.

I can't believe some people on this board. Canadaammo did us a big favor in introducing the Tavor to our market and yet there is still resistance!!!??? WTF??? Are some of us closet anti's?

People should thank their lucky stars that this is a major breakthrough in our sport and take it as a blessing either if you're buying or not.

Well that's cool. I guess I better start saving then! By the time I get $3K stashed away, I should have a few non-restricted, 10-round black rifles to choose from. :D

Perhaps just out of the closet trolls ... :D

Some folks just can't stand the thought of others being successful. :runaway:

Man, I'd be down for a Negev in a heartbeat. It's probably going to be around 4-5k though...

What is this tread for? To say we don't need rifle priced at $3000? If the price doesn't work out for you, then you can save up to buy something more economical, not start a tread and form negative opinions against what could be the coolest rifle since AR. CanAm can't be making too much money on this, not with what he has to put up with bringing in Tavor. If you truly want Tavor, you WILL save up for it. If you're not sure, then what the heck, get CZ858. You go with what you are comfortable with.
It's almost like some people are trying to bring down the price.
