Made a few purchases this weekend at the Regina gun show. I had a table over at the side, and had made inquiries with a couple of dealers for a Liberator pistol. Sure enough, by the end of the day, someone showed up to see if we could work a deal. He had bought it new, but had thrown away the origional box, wooden reloading dowel, and the instruction sheet. He had fired it once, but didn't like the way it almost snapped off his wrist. We agreed on the price, and I was going to get it to a local dealers establishment to have it deactivated (it's a 12-6 and I'm not). But by the end of the show I had a change of heart and traded it to that dealer as part exchange on a mint (the frame rails are still black, not even holster wear, and 98% of the origional decal on the grip) Inglis no2mk1*.
I also struck a deal with a local guy on the nicest BSA 1945 no4mk1(T) complete with the nicest transit chest (still with the leather handles) I have ever seen. The label on the lid of the case has no tears and is still white, likely aided by the bag of dessicant which was in the box. The scope and mount are all matching with perfect optics, the leather sling is uncracked, and the canvas scope case looks like it has never seen the field. It even still has the paper directions still taped to the back of the scope case.
He had bought it in the 70s for $125, so was as happy as I was with the agreed on price (which I will not disclose so you guys won't hate me, but suffice to say neither of us got screwed).
From the same guy I also bought seven Cno7 transit chests, which were full of parts from stripped fdown Cno7s. This included around 30 sets of upper wood, about a dozen complete buttstocks, around 20 sets of the bands, 3 origional cleaning rods, but only 4 lower forestocks. Lots of other minor parts too.
Also bought a full wood DP marked LongBranch no4mk1*, which I'll deactivate.
There was also a decent M-4 H&R survival rifle there that I was starting to deal on, but with the expense of the 4(T), I didn't pursue it.
