Ok, enough chatter on here, I don't feel like I'm talking out of school if a site sponsor is about to bring them in. What may be of more interest then the complete rifle for people with AR-15s sitting in prohibited lockup is

Reminiscent of the AR-180 design, the JARD J180 utilizes a direct impingement gas system with a guide rod/recoil spring system housed completely within the upper receiver. However, it features milled aircraft grade aluminum upper and lower receivers for greater rigidity. It also comes standard with a JARD ARJ trigger system for a smooth, crisp trigger pull. Takedown is simple (see video above) making cleaning and rifle maintenance very easy.
Any AR mil spec barrel will work in with this builder kit

The builder kit looks like it includes all required proprietary parts, unlike with the separate parts kits required for the WX-MCR receivers. It uses a direct impingement instead of a piston in concert with the dual recoil spring/rail system, and thus it uses a gas tube, so there is no requirement for the handguard height to accommodate a gas piston. So, similar to the case with an SBI LPC or MRA Renegade, the handguard from a prohibited AR-15 could be used, along with the barrel, stock, buffer tube, pistol grip, and magazines. It comes with its own trigger, but says its compatible with mil-spec triggers. Unlike the manual action bolt action builds, these would require the gas tube, since they would be semi-automatic firearms when completed.
Below is a video of the complete firearm, followed by the basic takedown. The separation plane is more similar to the SBI LPC and MRA Renegade then the WK or MCR, having the buffer tube socket on the upper. The guide rods pop out using small panel, released using a standard looking captured takedown pin. The bolt assemble pops out in a manner similar to the LPC, out the bottom, without having to remove the buffer tube. There is no buffer spring, so a buffer tube socket folding stock adapter, like the one sold by TNA for the WK, should work with this firearm.

I expect this may need more cleaning then the WK or MCR, since gas is fed back into the main receiver directly. The piston is a known failure point for some WKs, but removing the piston entirely and using direct impingement in concert with guide rods and internal springs, rather then the longer play of a buffer tube spring in an AR-15 may introduce unknown additional issues. Still, it will be interesting to see how well it works, if someone actually imports it into Canada. Frankly, I consider it a small miracle this made its way through the lab and got an FRT entry. I could see BCL, Spectre or MRA making a version, if its successful, and no one drops the hammer on 180 based designs, but I guess we will see.
