I just shot 220 American Eagle 55 Grain FMJ through the Su16F for the first time.
Three failure to eject (FTE)
Six failure to feed (FTF)
Biggest problem clearly was the garbage plastic magazine. One basically came apart like you see below.
Did not have any problems beyond one FTE when I switched to the Lar-15 metal mags. I would consider the plastic ones as emergency backups and something to keep the stock sturdy. They are pretty bad.
Some of the jam problems could also be that I had a friend who had never handled before helping me load the mags. I told him to tap and of course I'm not beyond making a mistake with a new firearm.
Other comments:
-- be very careful when shooting with the bipod. Not only is it just unstead and plastic, but of course it exposes the barrel and chances of searing go way up. I know that sounds obvious but not having any where to put your hand you may instictually go back to touching it. For that reason and the just quality aspect I look forward to replacing it. After brushing it with a bare hand I made sure I put on gloves.
-- actually I have no problems with the foregrip when it isn't a bipod. The knurling feels good in the hand. However, you could really feel the heat build up.
-- Shooting it felt pretty good. The stock and body seemed to hold up to rapid fire. It was quick to reaquire.
-- Where I had cheek weld I didn't like the knurling on the stock rubbing up against my face with the recoil. I don't really understand why there is a knurling there anyway.
-- the stock rubber butt felt comfy
-- trigger did not bother me. It didn't feel squishy like I heard of the Sub2000.
I can't really say anything about the accuracy since I'm so new. I shot it with a Vortex Strikefire and basically blasted away at 25 and then 50 metres. I forgot to adjust the sights for 50 and made some big misses. The iron sights I don't really have an opinion of. I think they are ok. I shot a couple mags on iron and did ok at 50 metres. Taking the Strikefire off the top rail was easy.
