I've been putting some time in with a new 30-30, The Marlin 336BL. I have some Skinners on the way for this one.
It will see some time in the field this year, A bit heavy for a 30-30 IMO, but compact and it shoots great with 170gr RN's.

Not trying to start the JM / REP debate, but I'm a JM fan and have owned dozens of both......

This 2011 produced 336BL is one of the best built (fit/finish) Marlin I've owned to date. *With the exception of the checkering.
(Remington really needs to address their horrible checkering)

Mauser 1909, 20" Lothar Walther Barrel in 308. AICS mag system converted from a Rem 700 AICS Mag system. PSE-Composites Multipurpose carbon stock. 45deg Flag safety.

I've been looking a these on the EE lately too. I had one a few years ago and loved it, but like most things gun related it moved on.
