Lets Talk About The 22LR Situation....again :)

Heads up, looks like Canadian tire are filling the shelves with Golden bullets. Musta got a big shipment. Picked up two bucket of bullets from Hanover Canadian tire.
 
The CT's here in Ottawa are still pretty empty, but like another member mentioned Lebaron has a little. I did however, venture out to the Hunting & Fishing Store in Richmond yesterday. They had a good supply of CCI Mini Mags and Federal Auto Match Bulk packs,along with some American Eagle .22lr. The CCI has gone up in price from $43.99/brick to $46.99 in just a week, but in all fairness, I think the distributor has raised the price...not the store. I'm really impressed with this place, they've been working pretty hard to keep the shelves stocked. The Federal and American Eagle .22 is still pretty affordable, but as mentioned CCI Mini Mags are still a pretty hot commodity and are flying off the shelf 2-3 bricks @ a time.
 
i cleaned up last month to move my stuff into a spare bedroom. thought i had 7 or 8 thousand rimfire. nope more like 16 thousand. also found 12 lbs of power i had stored in a closet who no's when. it pays to cleanup once in a while.

Walked into my Local Gun Shop, hoping to score a brick or two of 22LR and fully expected to be disappointed as .22LR has been pretty scare lately.

Well... it was like walking into heaven. They had a large supply of American Eagle 500's and all kinds of Federal 525 Hallow Point Bulk Packs (They haven't had any Federal 525's in stock for well over a year).

I left happy with 3 Federal 525 Bulk Packs. :)

Granted, they now cost me $5.00 a box more then they did a couple years ago, but given how hard they are to find these days, it was money well spent.

Thinking about it, I should have bought more, but given the time of year 3 boxes should last me a while.

Anyone in Manitoba's Parkland looking for .22LR Message me and I'll give you the Name and location of the Gun Shop :)

Yeah, Stittsville had a lot of CCI Mini-Mags, Win 222/333/ etc bulk packs, Federal Auto Match, Wildcats, and a few others when I was there last Sunday. There were quite a few shipping boxes of random .22 ammo around. It looked like they recently received a large shipment. The CCI Mini-Mags were going for $9.99/100. Not sure about anything else. I was at Le Baron (Ottawa) today, and they had several boxes of Win 222 for $13.63, and Win 333 for $17.xx. They were "running low" on Win 333 cases tho. I picked up a Win 333 case for $201 taxes in. Not too bad!
 
funny to see all the different prices everywhere, clearly price gouging going on, last week Walmart here had 333 for $14.77 and 555 for $25.78, I have seen 222 same price as walmarts 333 and 333 at $22?? what a rip job, not a big fan of the Winchester bulk for semis, also sail??? what the hell are they doing, everytime I go there prices are higher and higher on ammo, i'm done with that place. bass pro Vaughn and Niagara are both out to lunch and stock sucks every time I've been there. I have a good amount seeing this coming over a year ago I bought some everytime I found it. going to the u.s. regularly I noticed there was never any in stock over there and figured that was coming soon to Canada. all those stores claim price increases are the fault of this and that, why are they all priced so different then? I call b.s. flat out trying to make as much as possible on the small orders. saw a store selling mini mags for 14.99??? really? get over yourself, you can keep em..
 
I was at Canadian Tire on Mcgillvary Blvd in Winnipeg today. They had 4 boxes of .22 LR Sub Sonic (50) bullets for $7.99. Yep total .22 inventory 4 boxes. Talk about gouging!!!!

how is bass pro vaughan out to lunch?

i was just there around 3:30pm today and they still had some CCI mini mags bulk (300 round) for $25.99 and a LOT of CCI Mini Mag 36gr 100pack for $8.49. i think those prices are very reasonable compared to some other retailers (ie. one site sponsor wants $39.99 for the 300 round bulk)

last I was there they had zero 22lr, you are correct those aren't bad prices, for some reason I have bad luck with bass pro, they are not close to me but everytime I do get there they have nothing I am looking for.

Wow, I haven't seen prices like that for about 1yr or more. Wish I could find some at that value!
Walmart hasn't had any 22lr in Wpg for a looooooonng time now.
