Lockhart renegade semi auto conversion

I bet MRA will make a boatload of money just selling receiver sets.
Not like they’re selling a ton of bolt rifles.
Probably already worked out a deal with Lockhart

Wonder if it is. Well my raven was prohibed, so I'm going to do something to make their gun prohib. Knocking out the competiton, so people will buy his conspiracy rifle.

Because why isnt lockhart modding his conspiracy rifles to semi auto?
Dog eat dog world. I hope you’re wrong but the manufacturers up here are truly scummy enough to pull something like this :(

I dunno. I was gonna pick up a renegade receiver set but now I’m on the fence. Rather wait and see how this all plays out once the goons get back in session. Don’t need another paperweight as a political statement.

It’s basic business, make as much money as possible while the market is hot.
There’s more market ney in the receiver sets than the complete rifles.
How can you blame either company for that?
Why else would you start a business?
If the plan is to ban everything then fuc it, the more there is the better.

Maybe it’ll finally get everyone on the same page… cause that’s the biggest problem right now

I don't know how you can label it an AR variant. Then any piece of metal is an AR variant with enough machining. I don't thing the laws were written concerned about semi-auto conversions but I am no expert here.
How?
Same way 90% of the banned #### was labeled.
How is 715T a variant?
How is turkcope####gun ar variant?
How is blaze47 and svd ak variant?

Because #### us and they do what they want. What Timmy gonna do? Cry to CCFR?

While it’s great that a company would be so bold to do this, they clearly haven’t thought this completely through.

99.9% chance the RCMP will make up a pseudo law (like their deactivation ā€œguidelinesā€ and calling certain magazines as ā€œdual useā€) and say that modified MRA receivers are prohibited because on the MRA Renegrade it is the upper that is the ā€œreceiverā€ / controlled part.

Now if they actually put some thought into this, it would have been wayyyyy smarter to just make semi-auto uppers for the Troy PAR. Since the PAR has the lower receiver as the ā€œreceiverā€ / controlled item, then there would be zero modifications required to the actual controlled part and therefore would require an OIC to ban it.

A slightly modified BRN 180 upper would be close enough, the legwork is already done. Interesting take, would be good to see this option also.

Measure the height of an ar Bcg with the gas key installed, then measure how much material you’d have to remove above the buffer tube threads. That will give you the answer of how absolutely unthought out this ā€œplanā€ is. You’ll have a nicely machined slot removing all of the material above the buffer tube essentially weakening the threaded portion holding the rifle together. What a dumb idea

I guarantee Troy's lawyer will be onto it right the way.

It is nothing great or bold about subverting someone else product the way it is by repurposing it for something that is completely not intended for that usage, and the worst part it is done on competitors' products!

This is no different from the famous swiss arms fiasco. Why do people in this industry keep on doing things like this to each other?

How about simply not touching other peoples' stuff and making own products?

But they aren't selling a new SA rifle. Where does it say SA modifications are illegal?

Modification that doesn't violate OAL, minimum barrel length or convert to FA is not illegal AFAIK.
I did not say modifications are illegal. What I am saying is the RCMP will likely say this "new" rifle is an AR variant just like all the other rifles in my previous post.
