Dog eat dog world. I hope youāre wrong but the manufacturers up here are truly scummy enough to pull something like thisWonder if it is. Well my raven was prohibed, so I'm going to do something to make their gun prohib. Knocking out the competiton, so people will buy his conspiracy rifle.
Because why isnt lockhart modding his conspiracy rifles to semi auto?
I bet MRA will make a boatload of money just selling receiver sets.
Not like theyāre selling a ton of bolt rifles.
Probably already worked out a deal with Lockhart
Right, maybe MRA will figure out a reciprocal service by way of "thanks"?Because why isnt lockhart modding his conspiracy rifles to semi auto?
Iām sure they could design a bufferless Bcg fairly easy. They very much do exist already for ar15sRight, maybe MRA will figure out a reciprocal service by way of "thanks"?
Exactly, keep driving this design forward and give the market what they want.Iām sure they could design a bufferless Bcg fairly easy. They very much do exist already for ar15s
How?I don't know how you can label it an AR variant. Then any piece of metal is an AR variant with enough machining. I don't thing the laws were written concerned about semi-auto conversions but I am no expert here.
A slightly modified BRN 180 upper would be close enough, the legwork is already done. Interesting take, would be good to see this option also. While itās great that a company would be so bold to do this, they clearly havenāt thought this completely through.
99.9% chance the RCMP will make up a pseudo law (like their deactivation āguidelinesā and calling certain magazines as ādual useā) and say that modified MRA receivers are prohibited because on the MRA Renegrade it is the upper that is the āreceiverā / controlled part.
Now if they actually put some thought into this, it would have been wayyyyy smarter to just make semi-auto uppers for the Troy PAR. Since the PAR has the lower receiver as the āreceiverā / controlled item, then there would be zero modifications required to the actual controlled part and therefore would require an OIC to ban it.
I guarantee Troy's lawyer will be onto it right the way. While itās great that a company would be so bold to do this, they clearly havenāt thought this completely through.

I did not say modifications are illegal. What I am saying is the RCMP will likely say this "new" rifle is an AR variant just like all the other rifles in my previous post. But they aren't selling a new SA rifle. Where does it say SA modifications are illegal?
Modification that doesn't violate OAL, minimum barrel length or convert to FA is not illegal AFAIK.
