The AK series doesn't have a Bolt Hold Open and seems to have done alright for itself in the world's various conflict zones. The same could to be said of the HK G3 and the MP5. I don't consider the lack of a Hold Open to be "lazy failure" on the part of Mikhail Kalashnikov or HK's engjneers, but YMMV. Last I checked, a Hold Open was a primarily North American/British Commonwealth affectation, not a prerequisite for a weapon's success in combat. At the end of the day, combat performance is the only thing that matters to the end-user...
So what? Are you planning on going to war with your m10x?
And militaries have different requirements - mainly cost. As long as it's reliable and cheap it's perfect for spreading communism or capitalism across the world.
This is not that though. This is a modern gun designed for civilian gun owners. Not having a last round hold open is a deal breaker to some, whereas I don't think anyone would refuse to buy one just because it DID have a BHO. I feel like they dropped the ball with that feature(or lack of).
In regards to the 553 R; Whats the legal status on those? is anyone trying to bring it in?
It's a prohib to begin with anyway despite the c71 coming into affectIn regards to the 553 R; Whats the legal status on those? is anyone trying to bring it in?
If it had BHO it wouldn't be AK mags.... and that WOULD be a deal breaker for quite a lot of us.

Not familiar with ak mag rifles. Will any ak style mag work in this platform and what would you recommend for 5/30 mags.
So for the bho is it like a cz/vz or does it stay open until empty mag is removed, bolt closes, insert loaded mag and recycle action to chamber round?
Sorry for the newb questions but i have never handled a AK patterned rifle.
Any european or chinese magazine is good to go, bakelites or circle 10 waffle mags are considered top tier but theyve been scarce for a while now. Contrary to their AR reputation, PMags are garbage. These style mags require metal lugs and feedlips.
The rifle has absolutely no BHO, the same as any AK. Yugo pattern magazines have a modified follower that blocks the bcg when empty. Removing the mag will close the bolt

Finally got to touch it a bit after getting home from work. Feels great! I can't wait to shoot it!
