M14 Scope mount photos

I am not saying m14 casm is the best out there, but for the price vs performance and accessibility of the mount, so far it is the best one I can get within my budget. The mount arrived the next day after I placed the order, 10 minutes to install. As it stated in the instruction manual, torque down the 5/16 screws, I did and I was very impressed with it, at least I didn't have to worry about stripping the receiver hole/screw like the other mounts I tried/installed. like u said, there is always room for improvement, and yes it is true even for a product that works. But my expectation is simple, as long as it holds zero after 200 rounds, then I am a happy camper.

So how many screws does it need to lock in the rear?
Why did they change the name to the Granad CASM mount?
Why is there mini rear sight mount now called M14 CASM mount?
As for that BS statement that you just provided then please inform us how the D.O.D. offered NSN number to 3 major design's for this rifle that all use the side optic mount whole? They are A.R.M.S., Sadlak & oh ya that realy terriable company that knows nothing about M14's...
What waz there name???
Oh Ya!
SMITH ENTERPRISE.
Further more to dispell that farce that you just spewed. Just want to ask you why is that whole was ever even placed there on the side of the reciever for?
Plus now if you are comparing high quaility mounts such as AIM to that CASM mount well you might be right. Considering that it is China made low end quaility compared to Canadian craftsmenship. But that is about as far as that farce should go.
Good job on Frank from M14 dot ca for making that shorty red dot rear sight mount. A great idea and perfect for people that compete in the "heavy metal" devision of 3 gun like me. With a little bit of info he could modify that design to remove a couple of screws but as far as that long rail on the M14 platform Pro Mag from Mystic Precision is what I would recomend for some one in that price range.
Now not to be so negivtave to Frank. Since I know he is reading this & since I think he is on the right course. I am going to offer you some free advise to make this mount a great mount & all he needs is to do 3 more things.
Frank this info is for you and free of charge.
1) Make it out of 4140 steel. (I know it cost's more & is harder to work with but it will make this mount.)
2) Add a stripper clip guide that the rail locks down to via screw or something like that. (This will cut down on the whip caused by the in & out battery slaming)
3) If you do not want to use the side lock down bar, going down to the side mounting whole. Then use the rear pocket of the rear sight to the full potentail. *hint, hint*

Now if you follow these steps Frank the 2 ear screws and the front stripper clip screw is all that you would need. Plus then your front of the rail would need a pad like the ARMS mount to ensure that the rail is level, level, level.

Now please excuse me as my beer is getting warm.
;)

Honestly haven't put it threw it's paces. Would love to though. So I can't give you an honest answer. Although I am sure there are many other CGNer's out there that own this product that can advise you what the pro's & con's of this rail system are. But honestly who wouldn't want to own an LRB M25? Well besides I <3 M14 :p
:nest:

I'm hoping Ill have the funds to order a couple M25 LRB receivers in the new year ... as I believe it's the only way to go for mounts ... :D

This is a JPOINT red dot seated in a M14.ca mount that is adjustable for elevation. It is coupled with an "Eotech" styled protective housing. According to JPOINT, this 4 MOA red dot is the world's smallest. It is small enough to fit inside/between the M14's rear sight ears.

I am told this mount will release some time in December and that these photos are prototype only so don't expect it to be exactly as shown. Enjoy! More new and cool gear for your M14.

That guard is much larger and bulkier than it needs to be.
Agree but I do like Frank's new idea. So if he was to make it a little tighter to the mount and also work on all MRDS systems not just the J-Point but others like the Fast Fire, DR, Insight, ect. then I think it would be a real winner. Even more so for us "Heavy Metal" competitors.

Just purchased an SAGE EBR stock, was wondering if anybody knows where i can purchase a Sage M14 Detachable Cantilevered Scope Mount. Any price guess? Thanks

M14.ca CASM mount, installation and Range Report to follow.

I don't see much talk about this mount on here. I know a few people who have them but they have not really put it to the test.
I bought it in lieu of the ARMS 18 which was out of stock everywhere at the time. ARMS sent me a notice that they are available again this month, guess I'll need that 3rd M14 after all :D

Overall I had to add 1.25" of rise to get my eye where I want it when I bring up the rifle now.
Going to take some getting used to, but after only a few practice sessions I can bring it up and get my eye in the right spot pretty fast, and it will get better with time.

Ghetto cheek riser turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Built up layers of 3/8" foam plumbing pipe insulation laminated together with double sided tape.
Then cut to desired shape and fastened to the stock Red Green style. Had to do the digicam

First impression of a scoped M14 after only shooting irons...feels like an unwieldy pig!
That's partially to do with my desk job making me soft and weak, time to do something about that!

Loving the ARMS 22 QD rings, but man are the levers ever hard to throw! I literally cannot do it by hand all the way, hence the reason they are installed with the arms facing out to allow my to slip a small pipe over the end of the lever for more leverage. They are not staying on this rifle forever considering the CASM mount requires you to remove the rear sight, which make QD rings a none issue.

Like I said I'm going to put both the scope and the mount to the test shortly and do a report on this Canadian product.

CASM from M14.ca

Frank sent me one of his new generation, 4 point M14/M1A scope mounts, the CASM®.
It arrived yesterday and I can't wait to install it!

The color matches up with my FDE Leupold Mark 4 and it will replace
my EBR rings, the optic will ride in low wire EDM rings from SEI.

This looks good as well...anyone try one yet ?The built in rear peep sight was a good idea

Looks goooood. Very nice :D

You can put the rear dials on btw, it's just the peep that touches.

How does she eject?
Any issues?

Nice floor ;)

I just got the rings today and havnt tried it out yet .I previously fired about 120 rounds with just the iron sights and Arms mount on and had no issues. The Redfield is very clear thanks again for the advice .
