M40 Family - Who owns one?

I haven't done it but was thinking about it when I did my m40. I have dimensioned drawings for the clip slotting and atrs said they could do it. I ended up cheating with my receiver and didn't do it. I didn't want to spend the money for something that was irrelevant to my needs, especially since my rifle wasn't really correct anyway.

I'm really new to this, so excuse my dumb questions. I have a remington 700 P, and I've reached out to McMillan to get the A4 stock. Do I need to get a different recoil lug? Some 1913 bases have integrated recoil lug, would they fit?

Agreed, an M1A would be great. I had actually put in an order Fri night for a different a4, then saw this striped one the next morning. Got things sorted with McMillan today and this one is on the way now. Makes up for passing on the smear A4 they had last fall.

That's a hard pill to swallow at that price. I know it's THE scope to put on an a1 but after using one, no way I'd pay 5k for an MST.

I wouldn't have bought the one I did had I tried one out before purchasing.

I appreciate correctness as much as anyone else but sheesh. My M40 with repro 3-9× gets used more than my MST-equipped a1.

I totally agree. Unless you're building an A1 clone, there are much better optics for the price. That being said I wish I had never sold my A1.

Poped in GA Precision yesterday and Jeff who is formal 2112/ shop manager now was able to show me around the shop. It's really cool to see how my rifle was being built and other processes and inventories. They are still doing tons of m40 clone builds, which really shows the huge interest people have in M40 series rifles.
