MAC-10s and Cobrays

Did the suppressors not reduce the cyclic rate?

I had the opportunity to handle one a number of years ago in the US.

Since this thread has popped up again.
No, cans increase ROF since they increase the gas going back into the gun.
Guestimated that it increases the ROF on an M16 from 700-900rpm to ~1100rpm.

Gawd I want one of those...there has to be a few 12(3) converted autos in Canada-even an old school dewat....anyone?

For those that have shot these, with and without a can, they are absolutely ridiculous and a total waste of ammo... that said... so much FUN!!!!

I didn't really notice a difference in cyclic rate with or without a suppressor, but that was quite a while ago. You just gotta love a trip to the US when you can squeeze in a full auto range day ;)

The closest thing I have found to a modern MAC is a Glock in a Roni chassis. MACs are good fun but not all that easy to come by in this country. Just about anyone can have a Glock in a chassis ... even if it is not FA.

If its fun then it isn't a waste of ammo. :D

Had to throw my hat into the ring with some pics of a few of the kids:

-Stephenville semi M10 in 45
-Cobay semi in 9mm
-Powder springs full auto M10 in 9mm with
his little brother in .380 M11
-Powder springs M10 w/ barrel extension

Someone mention these things being jamamatics, farthest thing from the truth with the original Powder Springs versions.

It's actually the safety made to mimic the M1 Garand/ Mini14, this was the 3rd or forth gen of M10. They tweaked it a bit to try and overcome some of the short comings of the design. The cocking knob for instance was made bigger and the bolt was heavier along with the spring being lightened a bit. The full auto version also had a compensator along with a somewhat redesigned stock. That's about all I remember since I bought it back in the late 80s if I remember correctly, maybe early 90s. No one sold the Texas Mac up here so I had a gun store import it for me (a much easier deal back then). Cost me about $400.00, full autos were only $600.00 back then. I don't know if there are any others in the country. This one is a closed bolt semi. I had attached a forward vertical pistol grip on it along with a choate side folding stock for an HK 91. It was a tack driver believe it or not. I've since taken it all off since it's now a safe queen.

This is what the auto version looked like:

neat stuff... thanks to all of you for sharing pics for those of us who can't own the goodies :)

I have my 12.6, but I am kicking myself for not getting while the getting was good.... thank goodness my $70 ppk clone got my toe in the prohib door. It must be like a knife in the guts to see this awesome stuff in the safe collecting dust..

kudos to those of you who would not just submit and send them to the grinder or deactivate...

These guns have great history, I am still trying to piece together the complete lineage. Abit confusing, RPB flats went to SWD to Leatherwood back again to Daniels. This would be a leatherwood production? Another confusing part is that Military Armament Corp closed and went RPB then MAC to SWD. (Military Armament Corp and MAC corporations are different) Assuming your 3rd generation comment. You got Powder springs too, great collection, Just missing the RPB / double stamped.
