Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

I guess the NR tax is real...

Already sold.
Funny how the market works, both sides benefit from the deal, or it wouldn't of been made. Yet people with no penny at stake still love to cry foul.
Probably how we wind up with the government at large.

My parts are slowly coming in. Hopefully by Friday I'll have mine built but probably won't have a chance to shoot it for a couple of weeks. It feels weird not having to file parts done for them to fit.

Did you miss my post about wanting one ? Gawd wtf is wrong with you guys ?

All I said was I didnt expect to see a screw, and then the fanboys had to chime in trying to defend their purchase... its quite funny...lol...

The set screw design was discussed 8 months ago??

The upper and lower slide together and the screw locks them. I note that there is a keeper screw that prevents loss.
There was "discussion" about the screw and need for a disassembly tool - hex wrench - months ago. Deal breaker for some.

For someone who didn't want one, why are you in here then? You could have mused to yourself about the screw and been on your way, but instead you came in knowingly to stir the pot.

Initially I thought the small screw next to the take down screw was a locking screw. It's not, it simply retains the take down screw into the receiver to prevent loss of the screw.

Well it looks like TNA is stepping up to the plate and working to find a solution.

A solution is forthcoming,
We have found a local anodizer that I'm 99% sure does the anodizing for one of the big name brands of AR's.
MDI will send us some bare receivers next week that we'll send off to get anodized right away and see how they turn out.

Thankfully somebody is. They could have found a competent company to do the anodizing 9 months ago. Leaving an important decision like this to the last minute is a very amateur move.

Where can I find a midlenght 18.6 barrel that is not heavy barrel? I want something that’s about the same dismeter as my m&p 15 sport 2. I’ll just take everything from my sport 2 except the 16 inch barrel and put it all on the maccabee. I want a midlenght system to get a longer handguard so it wont look too goofy with the longer barrel. I want the look of the M&P 15 moe mid in the end. Like thT but OD green furniture all around:

Maple Ridge barrels are fairly light.

Yes the MRA barrels are a good choice and come in both mid length and rife length gas port location. I have one and am really happy with it.

The only thing I'll say is if he plans on putting a fixed FSB on the MRA barrel it won't work because the part of the barrel where the gas block mounts is not long enough. It's only about 1.1" long or just long enough to fit a low profile gas block. If you want to put a fixed FSB on a new barrel you need to find a barrel where the gas block mounting length is at least 1.9".

As per the screw take down, keep in mind this may have been a function of ensuring non-restricted status. I believe it is the B&T rifles that the RCMP demanded not have an upper and lower that can be seperated. They may have instructed MDI to make take down require tools.

They did find an anodizing company 9 months ago. It just so happens it didn't work out with the production run. I've been in that boat, there's nothing you can do. It sucks.
